@Ginger333: Thanks :)

@Baby Boy Mom: You totally should share it on HB

I had a VBAC- did lots of research, changed providers at the last minute and made it happen. Even though my c-section was not that bad, it was really a redeeming experience for me (and I hope to do it again). I never got around to writing on HB but the full story is on my blog.

I've had two VBACS ... both without meds, and both amazing. I'm not sure what you want to know about them ... ICAN is a really great resource for inspiration, research and stories.

@Mrsbells: It used to be alot more common, but then providers began inducing & augmenting them making their risks higher so everyone deemed them dangerous & stopped doing them.

Now that it's known that inducing/augmenting them raises the risks & without that factor risk is relatively low, the recommendation changed again.... now it's a matter of providers being open to them.

@runsyellowlites: @Mrs. Twine: Thank you both so much for your responses and sharing your experiences! I only know one person in real life who had a vbac, I believe its still relatively new and most people just assume its not safe

I attempted it, but ended up with a CBAC. I blogged about it:http://www.hellobee.com/2013/03/13/not-natural-my-cbac/ Where we live it is not common or encouraged. I would encourage you to do lots of research about all of your options, so you can make an informed choice about what you would like to do for your next birth. Going forward, there are no providers in my area who would allow me to try for a hospital VBAC, and I would feel uncomfortable trying to do another HBAC after 2 c-sections (and my midwife would not assist, which is another reason I just don't think I'd try). So... I think I would find a hospital that was willing to do a family-centered cesarean (see here: http://www.wcsh6.com/news/watercooler/article/245535/108/Family-focused-C-sections). There are so many things you can do proactively to ensure you have as close to the experience you want, no matter your ultimate choice.

I actually don't know if there are really any other bees, other than Mrs. Bee herself, that have had vbacs..... :/

Jen Kamel also shared her hbac story on her site (along with tons of vbac info)
http://vbacfacts.com/about/hbacbirth/

And here's the ICAN blog that has some vbac stories too!

I had successful vbac... sure you read my birthstory but you can always refer back to it. :)
http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/my-completely-unmedicated-hbac-turned-hospital-birth-almost-cesarean

Here are a few birthwithoutfearblog vbac stories too (some successful, some cbacs)
http://birthwithoutfearblog.com/?s=vbac

And the Vbac facts community fb group has alot of vbac & cbac stories in it as well, along with a ton of moms with lots of researched info on vbac. I'd definitely recommend joining!

And your local ICAN will likely have women with stories on both sides along with great info on supportive providers & facts on the risks of each option. :)

If you had or attempted a VBAC would you please share your experience? I had a c-section last april and I my doctor that I can have a vbac next time around. When I was younger I always though that once you had a c-section you couldnt have a vaginal birth so the prospect of the vbac excites me and terrifies me at the same time. Did you have a VBAC and how did it go?
