Luckily a lot of vegan food is very simple. How about vegan avocado bruschetta/toast with tomatoes? Pasta salad is another good recommendation, a similar option is vegan couscous which is so easy to prepare. You could add nuts and dried fruit to veggies for a savory/sweet combo. A lot of sushi is vegan too--veggie rolls or a simpler cucumber and avocado roll and is super easy take out.

Whole foods makes vegan pizzas!

Or ask them what they like on their pizza, and get a cheese-less pizza or calzone from the pizza place you are already ordering from. (double-check the dough is vegan).

Speaking of pasta salad, this recipe has a pizza-ish vibe and you could make it ahead!

https://foodwithfeeling.com/vegan-pasta-salad-easy/

Maybe just substitute chickpeas for the olives for a protein source. Add some chips and hummus and you'll be set! Another thought is to order a veggie sub from a grocery store or Jimmie John's.

@ShootingStar: Can you get one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/KAF-Home-INS-15738-Carrier/dp/B00D5VDV84/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1542381919&sr=8-5&keywords=pie+carrier

Or the larger size? It's supposed to keep food warm for 4 hours and we've used it to transport pizza before, so it might work! The appetizers will also work though. :)

Thanks for the ideas! My only concern with pizza for them is that I'm not sure we could keep it warm. In theory I could have my parents heat it up and bring it over. The party place is literally 2 minutes from our house and they're just going to come for pizza and cake. But it might be hard to time. Maybe lukewarm pizza isn't that bad?

@Adira: I like the appetizer idea too because it's really easy, lol. Maybe if I brought in chips and hummus and veggies that would be good. then the other kids won't want to devour it like they would fruit, lol.

Another vote for pizza if it's possible.

My kids LOVE this American Flatbread Vegan Harvest Pizza:

https://americanflatbreadproducts.com/vegan-harvest/

You could add toppings to it too.

Not sure if this is too messy, but maybe a pasta salad? Otherwise maybe just bringing in crackers, chips, fruit, veggies? My kid never seemed to mind filling up on the "appetizers" when he wasn't able to eat the pizza at parties. I think as long as you have safe foods + special cupcakes just for them, they'll be appreciative!

I was vegan for over a year, so I appreciate the efforts you're taking! Not everyone does. If everyone is eating pizza and you're willing to make something easy for them, could you consider making them a pizza? Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough is vegan! And then you can pick up some vegan cheese at Whole Foods, top it with fresh basil or sliced tomatoes, and you have an easy option that also matches the other food you're serving, so they won't feel like they stand out. Whole Food's vegan cookies are also good. I like their double chocolate chip!

We're having a 5th birthday party for DS this weekend at a kind of play place (bowling and indoor mini golf and other stuff). They don't really allow outside food except cake. If you want food they order pizza.

For most of the guests this is fine, but my SIL and niece (3 years old) are vegan and I'd like to have something for them to eat too. The party place said I could bring in "non-messy" food for the two of them, lol. So I could use some suggestions for what would be a good alternative when everyone else is eating pizza. The party's at 11-1 so I'm looking for some simple lunch food.

I also plan to stop by Whole Foods and get a couple of vegan cupcakes for when we have cake. So anything I could pick up there or make easily, because I have a million other things to do, would be great.
