Not Vegas, but I flew to Chicago at 31-32 weeks. We walked everywhere- it was very cold and I was extremely slow. Otherwise it wasn't a problem, we had a good time. I did take a few breaks through the day and made sure to take a nap too, it really helped. I didn't need a doctor's note to fly yet, we took Southwest and I took advantage of the early boarding every time.

I have noticed much less smoke every time we go to Vegas. It usually gives me a bad headache, and I haven't had problems the last few times I've gone.

I would do it and would definitely want DH with me! Obviously you should be careful to not be on your feet TOO much, but if you consistently walk to stay in shape throughout your pregnancy, I don't think you'd have trouble walking up and down the strip some. Maybe not from one end to the other, though. Definitely find comfy shoes that are supportive and big enough for if your feet swell. And maybe get a support band, too--then when your uterus starts dragging you down you'll have that to help support it. ;)

As long as you don't have issues with your pregnancy, I don't see why you couldn't travel.

Y'all are awesome!!! So much help! @Lozza: That's a great point. My sisters are pretty young (20) and have nooo clue how I feel pregnant. They wouldn't be the best allies in that!

@shopaholic: Pool! I hadn't even thought of that! That would be soooo lovely. I love the idea of a mocktail, too!

@Alivoo01: We took the monorail when we went in 2011! It was great, there was almost nobody on it and it was super fast.

@katiew92081: That's a good point, I should definitely get refundable tickets, just in case. I have an appt in a few weeks, I'll start checking in about it then.

@Mrsbells: Good idea! I'll see if I need a note or something

@Bookworm: and don't be afraid to take a taxi from one casino/area to antoher. I went to Vegans *not pregnant* and took taxies any time I was wearing high heels. It's not that pricy, since everything is relatively close.

I'll be 35 weeks when we take my in laws to Vegas this July! Ventilation is pretty good in the casinos since a majority of the areas prohibit smoking. Just briskly walk past smoking areas or take a slight scenic route to avoid it. At least in mid-May it won't be too hot so you can still just lounge around the pool and enjoy yourself!

I think having your hubby there will be helpful and comforting. As for endless walking, a lot of hotels now have a monorail you can hop on that stops at various hotels so that'd be a lil cheat on cutting down on some walking!

We drove the Vegas when I was close to third trimester. I can't remember exactly which week. I LOVE Vegas too and it was okay. The nicer hotels and casinos have pretty good ventilation these days. I mostly stayed in the shopping and eating areas where smoking isn't really allowed or prevalent. And mid-May should be nice that you can walk around outside, lay out by the pool, etc. I also did have the most delicious "mocktail" at the Wynn! It was so yummy that I didn't really miss not drinking - but be warned, it cost as much as a regular cocktail!
For that same thing, I also have a go-to "mocktail" of my own that I could always have when everyone else was drinking. A virgin "greyhound": Grapefruit & Club Soda. P.S. I'd want my DH there too!

I flew to Vegas from NYC at 25 weeks. The second hand smoke in casinos wasn't that bad, from what I could remember, but we didn't really hang out in those areas for too long. I went shopping a lot and checked out restaurants!

I don't know much about Vegas, but as long as everything is going swimmingly with your pregnancy, you shouldn't have a problem. Even though you're in the third trimester, you aren't that close to the end at that time.

But, you should definitely check with your doctor and be open to the idea that things could go the way of you not being able to fly. Also check with airline restrictions on flying in the third trimester.

I would definitely want DH with me. At 30 weeks I was often uncomfortable and needed some accommodation on excursions, but hated having to constantly be like "I can't walk that far" or "I can't eat that" or "I'm tired and I want to go home." It's nice to have someone there to help take care of you and be the one to say "hey let's take a cab instead of walking" and stuff like that.

So my dad is getting married in Vegas, which I love, because DH and I got married in Vegas! Anyways, he was going to go in early June, and not bring anyone with him, but it looks like he is going to try to move it to Mid-May and bring all the kiddos. I'll be 30-32 weeks (not sure exact date yet) and am wondering, has anyone else gone to Vegas while pregnant? Any tips on how to avoid the smoke, the endless walking, and the lovely, lovely booze? ;)

Also, do you think it would be worth the extra money to fly my DH with me in case something goes wrong? I'm very excited, but looking mostly for reassurance that I'm not going to suffocate the baby with second-hand smoke, and that at 30 or so weeks my risk of anything happening is low. Humor me, people!!
