@Tidybee: Oh good, I'm glad! I'm not a health care professional, but my DH had an extensive blood clot in his leg. It was very scary!

@macintosh: Thanks!! I know that's a huge concern....it has been since the first days of the pain and tingling a few weeks ago. Fortunately I have 2 PAs and a nurse practitioner in the family, and I've been sending them pictures, and they've alerted me to all of the signs and symptoms to look out for that might suggest blood clots. I have an OB appt next Friday and am hoping to discuss it then.

If things have gotten worse I'd consult the doctor again. I would be worried about blood clots, which can be very dangerous. Signs of clots are swelling (especially if one leg swell more than the other), warmth, and redness. I don't want to scare you, but please be careful!

@edelweiss: Thanks! I am trying to spread my to-do list out over the week so that I have a good chunk of time to sit with my feet up during nap time and have cut myself a break with letting DD watch a show so I can put my feet up and rest as well. Maybe i;ll do some massage each night...can't hurt!

i know this is probably one of the dumbest things to say to an SAHM, but as much as you can, try putting your feet up. my mom was having some circulation issues and got this interesting machine that has bandages around your legs connected to a box and it massaged her legs--she used it at night before going to bed. okay that's enough of my random suggestions. i'm sorry you're dealing with this!

Quite the opposite of my first pregnancy when I worked at a desk most of the day, I am now a busy SAHM with an active 2 year old to chase after all day, so I'm on my feet pretty much all day.
Around 16 weeks, I started noticing tingly pain (but not swelling) in the backs of both legs. After consulting with my doc, he suggested it was no big deal and just to wear compression stockings which I have been doing. Over the past week or two, the pain is pretty low but the physical appearance of my calves has been getting progressively worse. They don't look like spider veins or varicose...just big bruisy blotches all over. I'm trying not to be too vain (ha...ha) but we have a lot of dressy events coming up, plus warmer weather, and even DH, who does not care what any one thinks, feels for me because my legs look so beat up.
i know this comes with the territory, but does anyone have any suggestions other than ugly crying about it and long dresses?
