It just seems so bizarre to get fired from 2 different employers for the same reason and not have it be your fault either time. (I'm not saying it is his fault - but clearly he needs to take some steps to ensure it doesn't happen a third time.) If they are downsizing (well, whether they are or not), their workers’ comp rating is already getting dinged – why fire someone instead of lay them off, and risk a wrongful termination lawsuit? I don’t know, sounds odd all around. I'd have him ask to see the evidence. A janitor at one place I worked was accused of stealing, he was so nice and honest and everyone was very surprised. When they finally showed him the evidence it turns out he had taken a couple discarded cardboard boxes home that shipments came in. We had massive amounts of shipping boxes that arrived everyday so anytime anyone moved they just took those boxes home, no one had ever said a word about doing it. It was crazy how he'd been singled out (and they weren't even trying to stop people from taking the boxes home because it happened all the time afterwards too). He didn't end up getting fired though they didn't back down on their position he was stealing from them. He made an honest mistake at the first job and thinks the second job was just downsizing the department, but since he was honest with the second job about what happened at the first job, he thinks they are using it against him to frame him. DH has some interesting luck, to put it mildly. He just got fired again, for the second time during this pregnancy (wtf?!) and his UE benefits got denied. They are claiming he did something he says he definitely did not do and would not ever do. They claim they have evidence. I am just so frustrated. He had a HUGE legal battle all of last year, and though this isn't on par with that situation, I am just so bummed out to have him falsely accused of something again. </p> <p>Anyway, I suppose he'll have to appeal, but I also want access to this so called evidence so I can analyze it before finding an attorney. I hope it is included in his file. I am just so disheartened! </p>
