@misolee: We bought a table from West Elm last year. I was 9 months pregnant when we picked up the first one and put it together ourselves. THREE tables later, we finally had one without a smashed corner.

Just be SUPER nice to the people on the phone, and you should be good. I'd also ask them for a gift card for all of this frustration. We were offered a gift card worth 15% of the table, and I thought the gesture was really awesome.

Fingers crossed for you!

Argh. Sounds frustrating. Customer service is not always the forte of stores these days.

UGH. I have no words of wisdom, but I'd be as frustrated as you. :( hopefully you never have to deal with them again after all this is done.

I'm in need of a major vent bc of the frustration I have had with getting our fridge.

We signed on our new house on Dec 26th. We brought our fridge from a major retailer...let's call them "HD" on December 29th. They scheduled us for the delivery date of January 6th.

-The delivery company that HD contracts out to gives a 4 hour window. On January 6, the 4 hour window was 12:15pm-4:15pm. I was working, hubby was out of town, so my mom and LO went at 12:10pm. I have a text with a timestamp stating that she arrived. She waited and waited. I finished work and then waited and waited. When I called to ask, they said that someone had been there at 12:25pm saw that no one was there and left. The next available time was a week after.
feeling: very annoyed at the stupid delivery guy who obviously lied at the time he was there but what can you do?

-Tuesday, January 13, the 4 hour window time frame they gave was 3pm-7pm. I even adjusted my work time to be able to meet the delivery. I get a call at 10:30am saying that they are 30 minutes out.
feeling: really really annoyed. what's the point of giving you a 4 hour window?

-Luckily, hubby is in town and can leave work real quick. The fridge arrives. It has a dent! Delivery guy claims that a technician will call to schedule to fix it.
feeling: what else can go wrong?

-Saturday, January 24th. Still no phone call or word about or fridge. Called HD and they inform me that the policy was for us to not accept it when they delivered. They will investigate and call back.
feeling: What? That's not what they told us

-Wed, Jan 21st. Fridge will be replaced with new one. Earliest delivery date is Jan 29th. A whole month after we purchased it!
Feeling: erm...can this happening?

What is wrong with HD and the 3rd party delivery company that they contracted out with? We have had conflicting information and times and they don't even follow the rules and procedures that they have set up. Luckily, we are still living with my parents and don't have to eat out everyday with a 2 yr old. Still, I would like to move into my house!

Thanks for letting me vent.
