What in the world? I would be furious. Like, seething mad. Unless he thinks that he could take the baby to work with him I can't fathom why he would think you should be able to do so. He's essentially saying his work must be more difficult/important than yours. If he doesn't want the nanny driving your daughter, then HE can find a way to drive her to and from school. Oh I'm so mad on your behalf right now.

Yeah nope that's insane. If he cares that much then have him drop off your daughter at preschool!

Oh no I am so sorry.... he's ignorant and crazy! Seriously. Why doesn't he drop LO1 off at school and take the baby to work himself? All babies does is sleep! So sorry, I would be so mad as well..... I hope you guys resolve it soon! And kudos to you for remaining calm - I would have tear down the place in anger if I were you lol

You're totally not crazy. He's not being realistic. Could you put LO1 in school full time for two days a week? That way the nanny could come to your house and watch the baby and either you or DH could do drop off/pick up for LO1?

I told him I didn't want to talk to him anymore and left the room. I'm trying to calm down until I can explain more calmly why his suggestion is idiotic and insulting. Ugh. I just can't even comprehend how he thinks that's reasonable.

So, so stupid. I actually had the same unrealistic expectations before I had a kid but hello, he's done this before. Also, even if it would work for a couple months while LO2 is still a sleepy infant (which it wouldn't but just for the sake of argument), it would definitely not work as soon as LO is mobile so it's not a long-term solution anyway.

So our LO just turned 3 And we are expecting another baby in March, I've been thinking about what child care will look like once I go back. Right now, lo has a nanny 3 days and goes to a preschool 2 days. My plan after maternity leave is to keep LO 1 in school since she loves it; but still working out logistics of that with new baby. Im considering having the nanny drop off LO 1 at her school 1-2 days week, and still come to watch baby. I made the mistake of mentioning this to my husband tonight. I've always been "in charge" of childcare, he doesn't have to arrange coverage if he works late, I'm the one who handles it if nanny is out, etc. and I'm fine with this usually but I'm really fed up with how he expects me to handle house/childcare/work sometimes. So when I mention above set up he says no way, we're not buying car seats for nanny (1. Doesn't want to buy them 2. Worries they would take out/reinstall incorrectly 3. Worried about driving) which of course are concerns I've had too but trying to figure out how to keep older LO social interaction and not be driving around during my work hours...and so I asked him to think about it if he has any ideas. His idea is why can't I just drop off LO 1 and then take baby with me to the library to work. I said absolutely not. And he kept pushing it. And I said that was ridiculous and offensive. I wouldn't be able to get anything done! Why don't I just Drop baby off at his office for a few hours? He thinks I'm over reacting. Said I forget all babies do is sleep. Oh I'm sorry I must have missed that while you were at your office and I was trying to work with an infant. Am I being crazy on pregnancy hormones or is that totally stupid??I'm so mad!
