I was using #2's further room as an office up to 5 days before she was born. The day before my csection is when my husband started painting for it. And we had no furniture until after she was born! I happens and you learn you don't need all that stuff to bring home baby

I'm 3 days away and we don't have everything done. Holidays and illness... It is what it is. Car seat is cleaned and ready to go and base is installed in one car. Rock and play is down from the attic and washed, and some clothes have been sorted and washed. That's all he needs for now so hopefully, once he's here we'll get the rest done.

I'm 5 weeks away and in the same boat. Nesting has started kicking in for me so I've spent a ton of money the last few days ordering everything we need and that I want for baby off of Amazon. I also made a prioritized list of what needs done so DH, MIL and I can start at the top and knock stuff out. Once we put it in writing today, we really got moving!

I have pretty much everything to do that you said as well and I've got 5 weeks to go. I'm still hopeful I'll get it done when I stop working full time in 2 weeks. You will find a way and if necessary prioritize what truly needs to be done before baby comes.

I had my 2nd child unexpectedly a month early and had nothing ready. clothing still had tags, crib bedding wasn't washed, no room set up. Good thing is that it was a positive reminder you pretty much don't need anything to have a baby except some diapers and a couple outfits! ha! Friends came over to my house and did laundry for me and helped get stuff set up while I was in the hospital.

Oh by the way, it helps to empty out that room. Just empty it out totally and vacuum or wipe down the floors, spritz a little Lysol in there and make it a clean slate to start with. Don't bring anything in there until it's clean and ready!

It's ok. My 2nd LO is 8 weeks old and I still have things to do for her. We had nothing done when she was born except one box of diapers and the pack and play was set up in our room. She was only one week "early" too. It will all get done eventually and she will never know the difference.

I have a few more weeks than you, but feel kinda overwhelmed, too! Last night I listed out everything that needs doing and then DH and I started putting them on the calendar. I agree with @catomd00: though, initially you just need a few items f clothing, diapers/wipes, car seat, and a place to sleep!

Take heart in knowing it can get done in a few short spurts or if need be just one session that's a few hours long. Let Amazon handle what you can order off your phone or laptop and take it a piece at a time.

Try breaking it up into what you need the first week, the first month, then the first 3 months. Sleepers, diapers and wipes, burp cloths, and a rock n play or bassinet should do you immediately, plus the car seat. Make your husband wash whatever needs to be washed and go to town with some Lysol wipes while you watch something on Netflix.

Or sit up in your bed and have your husband dump all the baby clothes on top of the bed and just sort while you watch some TV and lazily go through it a box at a time.

Even for LO1 I didn't get his nook together until like after 30 weeks!

I didn't do anything until dh brought our toddler to his grandmothers house overnight without me. I had him pull out all the bins of old clothes and stuff ahead of leaving so I could sort and do all the laundry and organizing without interruption. It still took forever because i would get tired and take breaks but so much easier to do it alone. Plus it was good for them to go away without me anyway.

But we don't have a nursery for this baby and she is just squished into the master bedroom anyway, so there's that...

Prepping for #2 seems so daunting! You're not alone - most people I know don't prep much ahead of time for their second baby. As long as you have necessities you're good - carseat, diapers and a place to sleep and some outfits. You can do the rest as you find you need it. Amazon is great for not needing to go anywhere to buy anything! Hang in there.

That's normal! I don't think our nursery was ready for our second baby, until about 4 weeks before she arrived, maybe less. You'll start nesting and it will get done!

So LO#2 is due in like 7 weeks and I did absolutely nothing for him. Mom guilt but I blame it on the holidays and parenting a 3.5 yr old.

We have a room for him and all of our old gear and furniture we used is just thrown in there (moved less than a year ago). I have to go through it, wipe it down, wash things that need washing, put it away, etc. I also have to go through my LO1's old clothes and see what can be used for a different gender. Most likely have to get some boy clothes too. I also have to "decorate" the nursery and purchase duplicate things big sister also uses like hampers and humidifiers.

Problem is I'm huge like a whale and am tired constantly and can't find the energy. Preschooler drains my energy as it is.

Someone send help? Motivational words? Kick in the butt to get things moving?
