E just started saying YES and not yah anymore. Not sure where she got that from. Today, she did her UMMMMM expression and reflectively commented out loud, "Thinking....."

How cute!! I love both of them!! :D It's so funny how aware of our own expressions we become through our little mini-me. E says "yah" instead of 'yes' a lot. I'm sure her teachers will love that.

My daughter's first actual word (at about 10 months) was 'backup'. I realized that I say it to my dogs about 100 times a day, so no wonder she picked it up. She even says it to them.

DD says "oopsies daises" when she drops something. She also holds up her hand and tells us "I got it" when she wants to do something by herself. It's so cute!

E said wow, uh oh, yay as expected but I was surprised with the less common expressions that popped up. She says boo when she doesn't want to do something like sit in her high chair. Then she says ta-da when she takes a pen cap off, releases a stuck item, or waves a roll of wrapping paper like a wand. The latest is 'UM' She says this and taps her chin and looks up like she is thinking. It is such a bad habit but it is so cute. Any unexpected expressions from your LO?
