@StrawberryBee: you could always try. Hope it worked out better for you than me! I got a gift card in the mail. It was to help "reduce" the monthly rate plan to their advertised value.

When we moved, we also were no longer under contract with Verizon Fios. I think that we had to start a new contract with them to get set up in the new house with service. I really don't remember if they treated us as a "new" customer, though. If you know you want to keep them long-term, I would recommend getting a two-year or more contract to lock in your rate! Our two-year contract was up in January and they tried to raise our monthly bill by $30 or so just to keep the same level of service we had. Fortunately, I'm a good negotiator. :silly:

@Alivoo01: thanks! Online has free activation, I wonder if I could talk them into taking it off the bill. Just got a letter in the mail promising me a gift card but not giving any plan rates. Blah

I was with Verizon and moved. When we moved, it was pretty much like starting all over again. New contract, new activation fees, etc. It sucked because of all the fees and made zero sense. Only thing I didn't pay for was termination fee.

So I am not currently under contract with Verizon Fios (I just pay a billion dollars a month for cable and internet after my 2 year contract ran out years ago). I'm moving. Does it make more sense to cancel our current service and re-sign as a new customer at the new house, or use their 'quick and easy moving service'? I don't mind signing a new contract, and I definitely want to take advantage of their current deals (double play or whatever). I'm not sure if they let you do this if you just move your account to a new address?

Also, anyone want to come and pack up my house and move it? :silly:
