I was very soft and 75% effaced at 32 weeks (my cervix was measured weekly because I was pregnant with twins). I was contracting and thinning so I was hospitalized and started meds to stop the contractions. Stayed on the meds for 3 weeks and I went on bedrest even though I wasn't dilating at all. At 38 weeks (the max my dr was willing to go with twins) I had to be induced! And it was a long induction too. So being soft, thin and eventually 1.5 cm dilated at induction certainly didn't speed things along for me. Glad you'll be carefully watched, though!

Moms who had a "very soft" cervix at almost 35 weeks, did you go early or make it to your DD with just soft cervix the whole time? I'm 34+3 w/ my first and Dr told me today cervix is very soft, but no dilation (phew) - I have had some mild cramping/twinging low and baby is head down low so she decided to do a check. Will see Dr more frequently from now on - baby looks good and head down, but I don't want her to be ready too early! Hoping she'll stay cozy in there for a while longer. Would love to hear your experiences!
