However, they also offer a a 3% contribution in lieu of a pension. That is vested 3 years. </p> <p>My two previous companies were 5 years (20% each year). But that doesn't vest for 3 years. We also get up to 4% more in matching funds if we contribute, and that vests immediately. I lost a few hundred dollars when we moved because I had a 2 1/2 month break between my jobs (similar positions, different agencies), which sucked.
