I've used movie maker and i like adobe premiere. Movie maker is good for simple stuff but premiere is more robust.

Windows movie maker should come standard and is pretty easy to use. I have used that and the one that came with my video converter. I will look up the name because I can't remember it. Makes making backup DVDs really easy!

@however briefly: thanks for your comment. I've never used imovie on the mac but I've used imovie on the ipad and found it confusing. That sucks that everything must be in iphoto because I don't use iphoto.

Sorry, I have no PC suggestions for you. I use iMovie, though to be honest every time I use it I promise myself that there has to be a better program out there and I'll research it once my project is done. And then I never do. It's okay. It's fairly intuitive and you can do all the basic stuff you want but it always seems like it takes so much effort to do each and every thing and I am always left feeling like there are a million easier ways to streamline the program better. I also hate that in order to use a photo or music, you have to have those first in iPhoto and iTunes respectively.

Do you take a lot of video that needs editing? What do you use? I think imovie is pretty popular but I only have a pc. My husband has a mac but he also uses it a lot. Are there any pc-based video editing software that's good?
