We use a cheap audio monitor for travel. I miss the video monitor but this is much easier for a few nights away!

We have an extra camera. My mom uses it at her house too when she's watching DS, so it made sense for us!

We leave it at home. We have a cheaper sound monitor that we also use since we have to see her on our phones or other devices. We just do without while traveling.

We also use a cheap sound only monitor when traveling. Our video monitor is a foscam so we really couldn't travel with it. The sound only is fine for travel since it's really not all the time but I do miss the video.

We take one of the two cameras we have with us when we travel. We don't bother mounting it wherever we go, just place it as good as we can to see them boys. No way would I travel without it!

@Foodnerd81: We don't have ours mounted to the wall yet and were going to bring ours this week to a hotel but now I'm wondering if some creepers could see LO.

@Foodnerd81: We actually use ours every night because we have a Foscam (it's easier to use a separate audio monitor than use the app for audio). Bought it before M was born and haven't had any issues with it!

We leave our video monitor at home and bring our audio monitor (I got a vtech one from NBD for $20).

My husband found a phone app (you need two phones to use it) that alerts you when noise is detected. It worked great anytime DD was napping upstairs at my in-laws and we were downstairs.

If you use a video monitor at home, what do you use when you are traveling? If we are staying somewhere besides a hotel (where we are all in the same room) we bring the monitor, but since it's mounted to the wall, it's a pain to unhook the camera and wires every time. I would like to just buy a second camera but they are at least $60 so it seems silly. Considering buying an inexpensive sound only monitor- any recommendations?

What do other people do? We definitely need something if I don't want to be tied to sitting within earshot of wherever she is sleeping.
