I leave it on the charger by my bed all night tho. (A model that's discontinued, or I'd share a link!) It pans/zooms and obvi has the sound and night vision. It has everything we wanted: pan/tilt/zoom, 2 way talk, sound activated screen that turns off when it's quiet (you can set different sound threshold levels), night vision and the ability to add extra cameras if you wanted one in your newborns room too. We plan on using the sound-only monitor that we already have for the new baby, but I'd like to have a monitor for him as well. I'm inclined to a video monitor since he'll be in a bed and have full freedom to move around in his room. Also I want to be able to hear if he's crying out, of course.</p> <p>Anybody have any specific model suggestions or other tips? I'd like something that spans the whole room which seems different than when you have a baby in a crib and just need to focus one spot. We'd probably just get a wifi camera except I want the sound alert too. Or maybe you have a better suggestion?</p> <p>ETA - DS will be almost 2.5 when moving to his toddler room. </p>
