@MenagerieMama: wow- we can't even see the whole crib where we have ours! Sometimes we look and it looks like it's empty because she curled up in a corner. Ours sucks. But also we probably don't have it in the best spot.

We only have one LO but our dropcam has a wide enough angle I can see the entire room from where we have it installed!

I think the better Motorola would work but when I replaced ours I accidentally bought the wrong one and it doesn't pan.. So our plan is to just point it at baby and if we can have lo1 in the background well do that.

We had the Motorola MBP36 with 1 camera but just upgraded to the MBP43 with 2 cameras. We haven't used both yet but I really like it! It pans and zooms and it's never woken my son up.

I have a Motorola and it can't move. It does alright, but it just stares at one spot. I do like that when the hand held part runs out of batteries it beeps, so you always know it is working.
We also have summer infant one, with three cameras in three rooms. It scans between all the rooms and this one I can zoom in/out, and move the camera. It is NICE! The only thing I wish it did, was if a kid on camera 1 was crying then the camera 1 would stay on instead of continuing to scan through all the cameras.

The only time that the kids have been disturbed by the camera moving is when they are already awake, and not even all the time. I think it's creepy when I'm in the room, but I guess the kids are just use to it hahaha

My friend swears by her Motorola video monitor!

Your toddler may surprise you, mines been in a floor bed since 6m and at 2, he doesn't get out of bed very often. He's lazy, lol he'd rather yell for us than get up!

Our current video monitor kind of sucks. It goes out of range all the time, even when I'm sitting still ten feet from her bedroom. So while we can get a second camera for it, I'm thinking of just starting fresh.

Our plan is to have baby #2 in our room for the first several months, then have the toddler and baby share. Toddler will also be moving to a twin bed, therefore will not be contained anymore.

What kind of video monitor have you found works best for multiple kids and toddlers who can escape their beds? Or current monitor doesn't pan at all. Does the panning of the camera ever wake your baby?

Just thinking ahead... They won't be sharing a room until the spring probably. :)
