Thanks everyone! We decided to mount it high on the wall kinda to the side looking down into his crib. I love being able to see him sleep now!

I have to second the Velcro mounting. We have a child-size coat stand at the foot of his bed and attach the camera to the top of it with Velcro (it's not the prettiest set-up, but it does work really well). We move the coat stand around as needed, and then can also easily peel the monitor off of it when we travel. You can see the set-up here: http://www.hellobee.com/2013/01/21/the-trikesters-nursery-reveal/nursery-4-2/

We have a bookshelf near his crib. It's positioned perfectly on a shelf and pans the whole crib. If he's at the very top, I can't see his face, but it works without killing our wall!

we just used the crib ledge for up to five/six months? i liked the view vs the zoom. but then LO got mobile during sleeptime, we now have it mounted on the wall overlooking the entire crib.

We mounted ours high on the wall near the crib so that we could get the entire crib into an overhead shot. Also, the baby can't knock the camera off the crib which is happening to one of my friends now that her baby is older.

We have ours wall mounted with 3M strips (the velcro kind so we can easily put it up and take it down) on the wall. It works really well for us!

we had ours propped on the corner of his crib, but one day after waking from a nap he pulled it down and put a bruise on his forehead. that's when we decided to mount it to the wall. it's about 2 feet above his crib right in the center. it's not the prettiest set up in the world, but it does what it needs to do. and no more forehead bruises.

Ours is wall mounted a few feet above the crib. Not incredibly attractive, but we have a great view of her. It's really secure, so we have no worries of it falling.

I have trouble with this too. We used to prop it on the ledge of the crib. But sometimes it would fall, or I'd accidentally bump it and lose the right angle. I finally went and bought a bookcase tall enough to over-look the crib. Still had angle issues, so it's propped on the ledge, but still not secured. So far, I've been hesitant on wall-mounting, but it might become inevitable.

her crib is in a corner, and it's on the wall about 5 ft above the crib. I have the wire tacked up and out of her reach, though. My only annoyance is that the montior (motorola) is landscape, and her crib is portrait (so to speak) so I have to follow her back and forth sometimes. lol.

So we finally gave in and bought a video monitor even though LO is already 6 months old. We recently bought a new house, which has 2 stories, so I thought having a video monitor would make things easier. It came with a wall mount, but I'm having trouble figuring out where to put it.

So where do y'all have your video monitors? Do you like where it is?
