I'd ask her or her mom for suggestions. They may have a church or other hall they have access to for it.

eta: I had D's birthday party at a park last year. It was fantastic. I'd look into renting a pavilion.

If your friend is okay with having it at her house I would consider having it there. I hosted my best friends baby shower at her house. I just showed up extra early to set up, had food catered and stayed after to clean. She didn't have to do a thing. And it's easier for her so she didn't have to move her big gifts around.

I would do something at your house with just friends, or in her city with just family (with one of the pp's venue suggestions). If it's a "sprinkle" it shouldn't be a big affair anyway, so you could focus on making it nice and special without a ton of guests

What about a park, rec center, fire hall, etc to throw it at? A lot if parks have it for free or small fee.

I would do something local and find a banquet hall or something you can rent cheaply. Our city has rec centers or community halls that are like $40 for a couple hours. Most come with the tables and chairs.

Maybe mention to her sisters you want to host something that is convienent to her and see if one of them offers a house?

My good friend and I are both expecting LO #2 in September; she is due about 10 days before me. When I was pregnant with LO #1, she threw me a really wonderful shower, but I lived across the country and was unable to do the same for her. I would love to throw her a sprinkle for LO#2, but I'm trying to figure out the logistics. She lives about 2 hours away, and her mom and sisters live closer to her than they do to me, although a few of her friends do live in my area...so I'm not sure that me hosting it at my house would be super convenient for her. But, if I host it in her city, I'm not sure where I would have it. I don't think I can afford to do something at a restaurant. She has 2 sisters and 2 SILs, so the number of invitees will add up very quickly before even inviting any friends. She has a great house for hosting, but asking her if I can throw a party for her at her house also doesn't seem like a great idea.

So now I'm considering possibly planning a virtual baby shower or sprinkle, but I'm not finding a ton about planning/executing one. Have you ever attended a virtual shower? Am I just really overthinking this whole thing? Any other suggestions of where I could host without breaking the bank?
