@PointeShoesTutus: Thanks! I ended up emailing my endo and stating the research I found (where the US standard is extremely low compared to the rest of the world etc) and of course she is out if town this week, but the endo filling in for her got right back to me and agreed there is a huge discrepancy among what is considered the standard and optimum levels...he wants me to start 250mcg OTC B12 and see if that helps!

I don't have much advice on levels but I'm usually B12 deficient because of Crohn's disease. Because of this I use a B12 nasal spray (prescription only) once a month. Just wanted to let you know in case you bring it up with your doctor but don't want to go monthly for the shot. This was a great alternative for me since my body doesn't absorb the B12 in my intestines because of the Crohn's, so oral tabs weren't an option.

Wouldn't hurt to bring it up with your endo at your next visit. Some people say B12 supplementation made them feel tons better.

Anyone have experience with a vitamin B12 deficiency? What levels are considered low? My levels were checked in Feb and came back at 280 pg/ml, but my endo never said anything about it being low however, I have a bunch of people telling me that it is extremely low and that it should be 500-800 pg/ml with it more like 800 pg/ml...any experience?
