There were a lot of things, but here are some of the main ones: I communicated a lot of information to the parents for the teachers about class events. I organized volunteers for class parties and school events, like if someone needed to bake a cake or man a booth for sports day. I collected money for the class fund and kept track of that throughout the year to make sure we had enough money. If parents had questions about what was going on, they could come to me first. A few parents wanted the teachers to send emails out about what the kids were doing in class so I requested that. The school's biggest fund raiser is at Xmas time and we all spent a few months preparing for that. I organized coffee mornings for the parents to get together and chat. Also collected money for and bought gifts for the teachers at Xmas time and the end of the year. Organize class parties. At least once a month there were 3-4 hour long PTA meetings at night to go over all school business and I really dreaded those! </p> <p>There are also specific tasks that vary by grade. This year (1st grade) the class moms have to start organizing a play that the kids put on the first week of 2nd grade. Most of the things aren't actually in-class help, though. I do scholastic orders with two other moms for the school. We have a school clean up day coming up and sometimes sign up for other events. They usually have online sign ups.
