Ugh! That sucks. I know pedialyte is great for hydration (from vomiting or diarrhea). Hope she feels better ASAP!

She vomiting again tonight so we are taking it easy. It's hard because she's acting oky and wants to play!

Does she have a fever? Ours vomited a lot recently and had a fever- turned out to be a UTI which is common in toddler girls. We gave her no dairy, and lots of soup broth, juice and water (and of course antibiotics). I hope she feels much better soon!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: If it looks like bile (bright green), you should go to the emergency room.

Thanks ev eryone!

The nurse called. She thinks its a stomach bug. She told me no food for 5 hours ftwr a vomiting episode and to expect some diarrhea today too.

She also gave me great advice on watching out for dehydration.

we had vomiting about a month ago. the nurse told me to give him 1 tbsp of pedialyte every 5 minutes for 4 hours. if he kept that down, increase it to 2 tbsp every 5 minutes. if he went a full 8 hours without vomit, he could graduate to saltines. it was a long day!

good luck to you! i hope the nurse calls back quickly!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: yea, nothing worse than nonstop vomit!! Here are the guidelines I followed. Basically no food for 24 hours. Sips of water only for 8 hours or so.

@mrs. wagon: sorry you dealt with this too! I'm waiting for a nurse to call back but what do you consider slowing? Is there a timeframe in between sickness?

:( we just went thru this a little while ago. Make sure not to offer liquids until the vomiting stops. I was afraid of dehydration so offered unlimited water but you're only supposed to offer a sip every 15 mins until the vomiting stops. No dairy at all. We did sips of water until vomiting slowed, then dry toast. Good luck :/

I'd wait for the office to open. Maybe they can clue you in to something over the counter that can help. Or they might ask you to bring her in.

I hope she feels better soon!

Going through the same thing right now. Unfortunately we went through this once before in July. We are waiting a little bit after each time she pukes to offer her something to drink to keep her hydrated and see if she keeps it down.

Does your LO have a fever? Diarrhea? I don't think you need to call the emergency line, you can wait until the office opens and give them a call for your peace of mind. I know that when I was going through this the first time talking to my doctor helped.

What's the protocol on vomiting toddlers? The ped doesn't open for 40 minutes. Should I be calling their emergency line?

C was cranky last night and fought bedtime. She went to sleep around 11 and woke up an hour last coveted in vomit. She slep in our bed and threw up in our bed a half hour later.

Back to bed around 2, woke up at 7 vomiting. It looked like bile this time.
She threw up again just a few minutes ago.

She can't keep food down; she took one tiny bite of a saltine and threw up.

Stomach flu? How worried should we be?
