Did you have your OB test it? I had what I assumed was a yeast infection during my last pregnancy but it turned out to be bacterial vaginosis. I had never had a YI before so I wanted to get it checked out. I actually had several cases of BV during that pregnancy (3?) despite having none of the risk factors. It was awful! I did also have one yeast infection during that pregnancy too. I'm not in the medical profession at all but that is just a thought.

I thought you weren't supposed to take Diflucan in the first tri? In any event, I had that exact thing in my first tri with my first and it was a persistent yeast infection that I just had to keep treating over and over again. It was awful!

I didn't have it, but a friend had a yeast infection the entire time she was pregnant. Nothing worked to cure it. After delivery, it cleared right up!

Yes, I think YIs are pretty common. And my midwives said that the 10-day treatment is the only one that's really effective when pregnant so not to use the shorter duration ones. Monistat doesn't work for me, I have to use clotrimazole (even when not pregnant). No advice on the rest of it, though, but I hope you feel better soon!

Hi All! I do not remember having this symptom with my son. I am now a bit more than 5 weeks pregnant with a yeast infection that won't go away! Monistat helped but now it's back with a vengeance. Itching, burning, and pain. Is this normal? Anyone else have this? Additionally -- gross -- I broke out in a weird rash on my butt. Attractive. Morning sickness I expected. A butt rash and vulva pain? Really? Anyone else? :bummed:
