I have the costco one and I use it with my son often. He's 14 months and sits in it really well and holds the sides fine when we go up hills. He's just starting to stand in it but usually I tell him to sit and move it a little bit and he stays seated.

The only think I don't like about it is it doesn't have a canopy. And where we live it's really hot and sunny, so I just bring his hats with us but I can't tell you how many times I've picked up the hat...

We have this Radio Flyer collapsible one. It has seat belts to keep the 1 year old contained, and the canopy folds up to fit in a little pocket. I'm really happy with it, especially for the price.

@agold: Yes! Really a dad. I joined when my DW and I were expecting our first. I found Hellobee to be an excellent resource for the "is this normal" type questions and the community is very positive compared to other boards. I don't post often but I try to participate when I feel like I have some knowledge. 😀

@agold: I think the Keenz is worth it for a few different reasons..
-canopy is way better than the radio flyer. It also has privacy shades that come down on each side
-my 17mo old will nap in it. She is able to lay down and its super comfortable.
-we live in CA, so i got the beach wheels for it
-collapsible, so fits in my trunk
-the push feature.. the push is as good as a stroller

theres a group on FB called the Keenz Queenz that has a lot more information

I have the old school metal radio flyer one, like we had as kids. It's meant for kids but does not have seats or seatbelts. For my 4 year old it's great. For my 1.5 year old it's fine but I worry she will climb or fall out when I have my back to her while I'm pulling. The sides aren't that high either. My dad really wanted to get all his grandkids the kind that we had as kids, so we kept this one. I would say under a year I would have had a hard time putting a kid in it. But now that the younger one is a year and a half, they can sit together and big sis hugs the little one and stuff.

@mrsrain: The radio flyer with canopy is one that I really like! But yes.. I also wanted collapsable. I have a space issue right now.

@Gin: Ugh. The keenz is one that I'm interested in. Also the veer gear. I was just so shocked when I started looking into wagons that there is such wide range of prices of wagons. I'm not sure how much I will use it so I'm having a hard time justifying the price.

@reyorra: I'm wondering if having both types of wagons is what will be best for me. In the future, though. I sadly have zero space for two wagons at my house! And yes.. that's kind of the point of my post. I was wondering if anyone uses the open wagons for their kids. I wonder if my girl will sit in there. Of course, she's getting bigger every day. But I do like the idea of little seats.

@Charm54: Thank you for telling me about that step 2! Its adorable!

@CarDad: I love the different seat positions!Thank you for telling me about this one. And cardad! I've never seen you post. Are you really a dad? That's great you are on hellobee!

@erinbaderin: Ha! Yes. Exactly. I know for a fact that the costco wagon I received is not intended for kids. If I put my girl in it, and she falls out, I don't intend to sue the manufacturer. But of course, I don't want her to fall out. So that's the problem. I love the radio flyer you linked to! I'm wondering which kind of wagon I will need. Seats or no seats. I don't know why everything is such a tough decision for me.

I would check the safety guidelines on the one you got - I know a lot of them say they're not safe to transport children in.

We have this collapsible Radio Flyer one: https://m.indigo.ca/product/gifts/product/042385110998?mkwid=s_dm&pcrid=71155813862&pkw&pmt&s_campaign=goo-Shopping_All+Products&gclid=CjwKCAjw5uTMBRAYEiwA5HxQNmt_LMAs5Hk_2fVHth_w0FfRWcvJC3TAPMdRqW9-_q-lNek41EQbcBoCTlcQAvD_BwE I love it. I really like that I can buckle them in, and it fits easily in the trunk.

We have both styles of wagons. We typically use the Radio Flyer one for pulling the kids around and the collapsible one for toting stuff. However, this week we took a road trip and were doing a lot of walking with the kids around amusement parks and zoos. To maximize trunk space we took the collapsible wagon only. The kids are big enough (4.5 and 2.5 to climb in and out on their own. One thing to note - the collapsible wagon is not intended for kids to rid in (there's a tag on it with that language). So if your kids are not the type to willingly sit still - you'll probably want one meant for kids as it will have seatbelts.

I have a keenz stroller wagon and also a radio flyer one. I love my keenz. The push is awesome. The radio flyer was such a pain to pull. It's pricey, but worth it.my kid will nap in it. I think if u get it on sale, you can get it close to 250

We have the radio flyer one that has seats and a canopy. BUT you can remove the canopy and fold down the seats if you want. We really like it. I love that I can buckle them in so they can't climb out!

Fwiw, those collapsible ones look much better for going out and about-- our wagon wouldn't fit easily into the car!

I have a question for those of you that have wagons. Do you have a wagon that is made for kids to sit in it, like with seats? Or is your wagon just an open space to throw whatever in? And are you happy with your wagon for pulling your kids around?

I just now received a birthday gift in the mail for my girl's first birthday. Its a collapsable wagon from Costco, I think. I'm happy to receive this as a gift because I have been wanting a wagon. But I've been eyeing some more pricey wagons that actually are made for kids to sit in them. Is the seat a big deal, or not?
