@cmomma17: The boys got a wagon for Christmas (9 months at the time) and it was one of the few gifts they paid attention to. They both love to stand & hold it, sit inside it, or take walks in it. So far, it seems to be a hit. I think the boys would love a water table right now, but I just can't decide if I want to mess with it.

Unfortunately we live in a second story apartment, so really we can't even store/use either of these at our own home. So really they would live at MIL's :(

@cmomma17: I am suggesting gifts that she will need/want till Christmas. Less that we have to buy her when she gets bored with toys. Will keep some in the basement and bring out this summer.

R got a wagon for Christmas. She sits in it around the house. Once it gets warm we will use for walks. She is getting a water table for her birthday from my Aunt. By the time the summer rolls around, she will be 15/16 months.

We got both as gifts when she was a year (one for her birthday in October & one for Christmas 2 months later.) We have used the wagon on nice days, she loves it. We haven't pulled the water table out, but will this summer when ti gets nicer. I don't think they are bad things to have on hand, as you will use them soon!

Another option instead of the wagon is a wheelbarrow, if you have a kid that doesn't want to be carried around/pushed.

We never had a water table, but my son has loved sandboxes from when he was a year or so old.

We got both at a year. The water table was a bit of a novelty at first but it was annoying more than anything else because we had to replace the water every 3 days or algae would grow in it and on the toys. Gross. The wagon is AWESOME. We use it so much. We pull her around the neighborhood and now she likes to pull it herself at 20 months. :) We have the Radio Flyer Pathfinder.

What age did you start using a wagon? A water table?
Would you recommend the one you have?

MIL has suggested these as first birthday gifts, but I feel 12 months is still a little young? Thoughts/advice?
