I couldn't really vote on the poll because it's hard to quantify. We do an activity every morning and errands or park every afternoon (it's a little more mild where we live).

Monday - 930-1130 playgroup (sometimes at our house). Afternoon usually grocery shopping and post office (we have a po box)

Tuesday - gymnastics from 10-11 and usually an errand on the way home. Afternoon is errands and/or park.

Wednesday - music class and play outside at the jungle gym there after (usually 10-1130). Afternoon park or errand

Thursday- daycare there 930-4 or so

Friday - music class and usually dry cleaners, recycling plant, park or something else in afternoon.

Saturday - daycare during ski season. Otherwise we go for a family hike and to the park.

Sunday - usually out to breakfast and park and go to free swim at the indoor pool after nap time.

I would say 4 hours out of the house a day and then 15 hours at daycare. So maybe 35 hours of of the house in a week. He's 21 months.

J is 17 mos and we go out every day for about 90 minutes either shopping or to the library to play in the children's section. He also has music class Thurs. mornings and Storytime on Monday afternoons. Can't wait for it to get warmer so we can be outside more and not hurrying to the car or house to escape the frigid cold! This winter has been brutal here. Too much snow and cold!

My dd is 9 months and because we only have 1 car that my husband takes to work, we only ever get out on the weekends :/ I do hope to find baby activities when she's a little older though (anything I can find is for 12m+) we could both really benefit from getting out!

My daughter is 29 months old, and we spend most of each day out. Visiting friends, the museum, the zoo, hanging out downtown, etc. We do most of it on my bike, since I'm trying to get into better shape, so that passes the time too. I just can't stand sitting around at home like a bump on a log.

DS is 18 months and I try to go out with him every day, usually for 1-2 hrs. Half errands, half park. We do one activity a week. Will do more once it gets warmer (swimming class). I voted 10+ but it may be like 20+ because we tend not to be around the house on the weekends, which bumps up that number.

LO is 16 months and we are out every single day unless it is extremely bad weather outside (torrential rain, blizzard, 100+ degrees). We usually leave the house around 830 or 9, come home by 10 or 1030, and then after his nap, he'll eat lunch and then we usually go out again for an hour or so. He has music class on Tuesday mornings, a weekly playdate Tues afternoon, another music class Wednesday mornings, and nature school Friday mornings. We also try to do open play at our kids' club once or twice a week.

Once it is warmer out, I expect we'll be at the park for multiple hours a day!

During the week with my one year old about 2-3 hours daily, 1-1.5 in the morning when we drop off Little Boy at preschool and do errands and then again in the afternoon when we play on the grass. Weekends are all over the place- sometimes we will do a family activity for 3-4 hours, other times the most he gets is an hour run to Costco. My 2.5 year old is out a lot more because of preschool...

LO is 15 months and we don't get out much - there just isn't much to do right now and I'm a homebody. We go to the park across the street daily (weather permitting) and storytime once a week. We go to the grocery store once a week and I try to limit other trips to stores in the interest of saving money. She is starting to need to get out more, though, so as soon as this cold passes I need to figure out more we can do.

My LO is 2 years 3 months and this has been our routine since about 15 months

Monday - play gym 9:30-11:30 then run errands
Tuesday - drop off 2s class from 10:15-12:00
Wednesday - music program from 10:00-11:30 and then errands
Thursday - drop off 2s class from 10:15-12:00
Friday - play gym 9:30-11:30 and then errands
Saturday - some family activity - zoo, museum, shopping trip, visit friends, etc...usually leave around 9:30/10:00 and come around home around 2:00
Sunday - family swim day 10:30-12:00

During the week we also fit in mom brunch and play dates with friends, shopping/lunch dates with friends that don't live as close, and zoo/museum/seasonal activities

Being out and about allows me to keep my sanity. I hate being stuck at home when we're sick. My parents come visit about twice a week but they come over to visit is most of the time

I'm a SAHM of a 15 mo old. We try to get out everyday even if it's only to walk around the mall or Target. It's been difficult with all of the cold and snow. She has an hour-long gym class each week, we do a music class once a month and go to library storetime here and there. On weekends we're out more with my husband and I take her to some meetup groups too.

C is 19 months and we are lucky enough to be able to go outside everyday-- she probably spends 2-3 hours outside during the week (playing, taking walks in the stroller, going to the park by our house) and then we spend about 5 hours outside of the house on Sat/Sun running errands and visiting friends and family. Another few hours throughout the week at dinner since I'm terrible at cooking something each night.

We don't do any classes.

This winter has been brutal so we haven't been able to get out of the house nearly as much as we'd like. I'd like to get out every day, so when the weather is warmer I'm going to buy a zoo and aquarium (or science center) membership. There is also a music class I want to look in to.

As of now, we do:
Monday: Playgroup (2 hours)
Tuesday: MyGym (1 hour)
Wednesday: Go visit Nana (all day after his first nap--some nights he sleeps over)
Thursday: Storytime at the library (1 hour)
Friday: We were doing a Mommy & Me Pilates class but that ended last week

LO is 8.5 months.

My daughter is 10 months old. We leave the house daily. Mondays we grocery shop. We walk most days (unless its too cold). If there is nothing else for us to do, we'll go to the consignment shop or something- just to get out. Sometimes we go to the hospital to visit her dad at work.

We go to free activities Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday and Thursday are usually music somewhere. Today we're driving to a town a little further away and going to a story time with a friend. These activities are usually 30 minutes or so.

Wednesday we always go to baby story time at the library- about 20 minutes of story time and then 40 minutes of unstructured play.

Fridays we go to a Waldorf school parenting class/play group. Its 90 minutes long, and includes lunch.

On the weekends we just do family stuff, and sometimes play dates (those can happen during the week, too, but a lot of my mom friends are back at work now)
I try to make sure she's around other kids most days of the week. Our area has a ton of free kids stuff going on, so we are pretty lucky in the regard. I'd guess we're out of the house between 10 and 20 hours a week.

In the summer I anticipate we'll be out most of the time. We'll go to the beach in the morning, garden in the afternoon, plus our regular activities. There is also a farm nearby that I'm looking forward to taking her to to hang out with animals.

DS is 17 months.

On Mondays and Fridays we're home all day other than quick runs to the grocery store, etc.
We do a half hour storytime at the library on Tuesday mornings, come home for lunch and then my LOs go to their grandma's house for 3 hours (nap+ snack basically) while I work.
On Wednesdays we do another half hour storytime at a local bookstore, come home for lunch and then they go to my mom's again.
On Thursdays I have a 2 hour bible study in the morning plus work in the afternoon so DS is with my mom basically 9-4:30. I'm there for about 2 hours between study and work as well.

So.... He's out of the house a total of 20 hours a week? We live our activities but we really do also enjoy our at home days :)

I aimed for one 2 hour activity per day when my son was under 2.

We did things like an English speaking playgroup, time at the community pool, meeting up with friends, etc.

For grandparent visits, because it was 1.5 hours and three trains away, I would do overnights. I'd go with my son on Thursday, stay the night and then my husband would come on Friday night after work. We'd all stay Friday night and go home either late Saturday afternoon or early Sunday, depending on what was going on. There was a working farm near my inlaws house, we'd go there and watch the cows, lol.

I would also take my son to the beach every summer for 2 weeks, without my husband, to visit my extended family. I am really bummed we didn't get the opportunity to do that last year or this year.

DS is 17 months and we usually visit grandma an hour a day, but we Don't do any organized activities outside the home. We also live in a really small town with little to do. In the summer we are outside a lot more due to the farm work and this year he'll be old enough for his outside play set. I guess that's like a park? We don't have one of those in our town either....

DD is 20 months old. During the winter, we don't get out much - more so because it's gets dark so early, but it's also cold!

She's starting daycare soon and I'm wondering if I should gradually increase her hours or just leave it as is so it's easier for her to get used to her new schedule.

As a homebody, I'm curious what the normal amount of time outside the home is. I live in a small town, so there's no Gymboree or any planned activities for kids under 3/4. Even the library's storytime is only open for older toddlers.

I would say that during the winter, on avg, she gets less than 10 hrs a week (weekends grocery shopping and occasional grandparents visits included). During the summer, it's more like 30+ hrs.
