I'm a freelance translator. I WAH with my son, but it was really tough, I worked a lot of nights and weekends until he started daycare at 2. I'm about to start WAH again, but hiring a babysitter for my daughter.

I'm a paralegal and my firm has worked out a plan where I will work PT, and split the hours at home and in the office, once LO is born and I take a few months off for leave. I am hopeful that it's successful and I can work at home full-stop, but I think I have to prove that it's doable first.

Thanks so much for all your replies! I was kind of thinking that I wouldn't really be able to be a SAH and a WAH parent at the same time, too much multitasking!

@Mrs. Pen: Yeah, I was a psychologist before we had our baby so doesn't really translate into a good work-during-naps-and-in-evenings job. ugh. Secret shopping is a great idea!

I could do my job from home, it's a corporate job though.

Echoing @mrs. pen, I had a corp job that changed my schedule to a flex schedule before I went on maternity leave. I write business proposals for new business. My mom is our primary care and watches DS while I work. There is no way I'd be able to do my job with watching DS.

I'm a lawyer and I *mostly* work at home (I do have an office I go to for meetings and I obviously have to go to court). I will haver our LO in daycare when I start back to work because I can't watch her full time and work full time.

DH and I both work from home, he runs a computer consultancy business and whilst I am primarily a SAHM, I do his accounts, raise invoices, chase payments, general admin etc. I get several hours a week done during naptimes or when DH is doing bathtime/bedtime routine.

I WAH. I work for a company as a sales representative remotely. The pluses about working at home is there is zero commute time and if my day doesn't consist of a face to face meeting, I can roll out of bed and start my day (which was handy this morning because my LO had a blow out situation). But there is no way I can focus on my job with my child being here, so I send my DS to daycare.

I'm a freelance writer and editor. It's very flexible but I have only been working for one client since I haven't had any outside childcare. I hope to take on a bit more work now that I'm in the process of finding a regular sitter.

I love that I can still contribute, but it means I get pretty much zero time for myself. If I am not watching the kids, I'm working. (And if I am, I'm working too!)

I'm not a WAHP but all the WAHM's I do know help jobs prior to having children that allowed them to make the transition. One mom I know is a project manager at a well-known banking institution, however she had been there for 7 years prior to having a child and the transition was seamless. She still have childcare, though.
I know a couple other SAHP's that are editors, grant writers, etc..

One thing I did for awhile (not as a [parent) was actually secret shopping. Sometimes I still do as date night to get a free dinner - and I'm eligible now since I've been with one company for awhile to do hotel stays too. I haven't yet but I would like to! You don't bring in a ton of income but $25 here and there for a 10-15 minute phone call or visit is really nice!

I'm an interior designer. Grandma watches DS, so I find that comforting. I personally find it hard juggling everything, but that could be because I don't WANT to work. lol

I teach ESOL to South Korean elementary school children online. I just started up again after taking a break while taking care of LO. She's now in daycare and I'm really enjoying being able to work part-time.

So...I'm trying to find a way to WAH. I'm a SAHM at the moment but would like to bring in some income.

What do you all do? And is it hectic trying to juggle LO and work?
