@blackbird: yep.

Real waist training is really bad for your body. It can weaken your core muscles, it can mess up your spine, it can push around your internal organs... Not good and not worth it.

@Synchronicity: a bunch of internal organ before & after diagrams and x rays pop up, but who knows if the diagrams are actually real. Dr. Oz said prolonged Spanx & the like is bad, so I can only imagine these super tight corsets.

I know that it doesn't redistribute fat and can only work by damaging organs (displacing them and eventually changing their shape). PP girdles are different though, they just provide support for your muscles whilst they recover.

I agree with @blackbird: I thought waist training was using a tight laced corset to squeeze your waist in. It is completely different from a pp wrap. It can cause all kinds of internal organ issues since it squeezes everything into a small hour glass shape.

Actual waist training is done with a lace up corset, it's not post partum wraps....Im assuming that's what OP meant...postpartum wraps aren't dangerous!

TMI, but I get really gassy if I wear anything too tight. I hate anything squeezing me about the waist. I agree with @blackbird: I don't think it's a really healthy thing to do. I'm not talking about a belly band postpartum though. I tried to use one of those but even that was too much for me.

I used a wrap postpartum. It helped my posture and because I had diastasis recti it made me feel like my internal organs weren't just flopping around. I could probably use it again as I sit all day for work and my core isn't strong like it was pre-pregnancy.

I used a girdle type thing for a bit. Kinda help get my figure back faster. I mainly used it for back pain.

I just heard about this the other day. Do any of you ladies waist train (pre or even post pregnancy)? What does it entail? What kind of results do you see? What resources and information is there? Why do you do it?
