Even when I was doing IUIs with the RE and I had a chemical, they had me do the next IUI right away. They didn't mention waiting a cycle, so I didn't ask.

I am currently in the middle of a CP. It was our first month TTC so we were surprised to get pregnant so quickly, and the loss was just as unexpected.

So now I'm on CD3 I guess. We will be trying again this cycle for sure. Although last month was our first TTC, we'd been trying since Christmas but I hadn't had my period until the end of June! Encouraging to see many women can get pregnant the cycle straight after a CP. Baby dust.

I did not wait - but I don't think I ovulated that cycle anyway! So the sex was just for fun.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It looks like my husband is also on board to go ahead this month. I will keep my acupuncture appointments and give it a go this cycle.

I am cautiously optimistic. After my previous miscarriage (at 7 weeks) we waited one cycle, then got pregnant the next cycle we tried.

This time we only have a few months to succeed or risk having a new baby when my husband won't be around.

I waited (not by my choice though, my DH wanted a break). I'm glad I did in some ways. I was sad and it took a while to feel better but I think it was good for me to wait. I think it really just depends on whether getting pregnant again right away might help you emotionally.

We miscarried in February and started TTCing again the day after bleeding stopped. We conceived two weeks after the original miscarriage. I am 17 weeks now and baby looks great.

If you guys are okay emotionally, go for it!

I was thinking along the same lines you were, after I miscarried at 6 weeks. None of the reasons for waiting a cycle really seemed legit to me at all. So I didn't wait. We didn't get pregnant that cycle but I'm glad we didn't wait. It was the right choice for me, emotionally.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I had a cp the cycle immediately after my D&C and had a sticky baby the next cycle. If you're mentally ready for it, I say go for it.

My CP was the lightest period I've had. It was 2-3 days

I had very little bleeding and no cramping with my chemical. I was about 5 weeks along. Doctor OKed TTC and we got pregnant again the next cycle. That baby is 8 months old now and perfectly happy.

It did lead to some minor confusion at the OB office as my file didn't have the miscarriage listed correctly (or the providers missed it a few times) so sometimes the staff thought I was 4-5 weeks further along than I was.

Thank you so much for your responses. It makes me feel better about continuing.

I'm curious. Did any of you actually have less bleeding with your chemical? I had one light day then two medium. Only spotting yesterday. Pretty much nothing today. I don't know if that's all or if I can expect more later.

Edited to add: this is my first chemical (that I know of) so not sure. My later miscarriages were gory.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a chemical on dpo14 or 15 and my OB's office said I could try again right away. They only asked me to wait a cycle after my later losses.

I am so sorry for your loss. No matter how early, it's incredibly heartbreaking.

I was told to wait a cycle by my doctor as well. I don't see the point now, but she mentioned for dating purposes too. I needed it emotionally though. We'd been trying for 11 cycles when I had the chemical pregnancy and it took us an entire year (and Clomid, Metformin, Estradiol, and Progesterone) to conceive again.

@Iced Tea: I'm sorry :( per my OB's instruction, I waited a full cycle after my D&C for an 8-week m/m, and got pregnant again. That second pregnancy never really took off and I miscarried naturally at 6 weeks. They told me to wait *another* full cycle. I didn't, and got pregnant a third, finally successful, time--I'm now 32 weeks with a boy. I also wanted to know what the reason was to wait, and I gathered it was mostly for their timing/dating records, which I didn't think was a good reason (I was charting/impatient). I also heard from a lot of women on HB who miscarried naturally and didn't wait, and got pregnant the next cycle, like some of the pp's here.

@Iced Tea: I'm so sorry for your loss. Both my babies were the cycle after chemical pregnancies. For timing I just counted the day the chemical started as the date of my last period. It worked fine both times.

So sorry you're going through this. I had an early miscarriage at 6 weeks, did not wait to try again, and got pregnant with my daughter immeadiately after. I did have to get a dating ultrasound, at my midwife's request, even though I was obviously very sure of my dates.

I had the glimmer of glimmers of a line and period was about 3 days late the month before I got pregnant w/LO#1 - I've never been 100% if that was a chemical or not, but I didn't wait and wouldn't have DS1 if I had! :)

I don't think there is any reason at all to wait personally.

I just had a chemical pregnancy. It was also my first cycle postpartum (finally, 16 months after!).

My midwife recommended waiting one cycle before TTC again. When questioned, the only reasons she could give were simplifying dating (flimsy reason IMO, especially since I chart) and letting things "reset". She also said it wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't wait and got pregnant right away.

I am seriously leaning toward not waiting a cycle. First, it was a super early loss. Had I not tested early, I never would have even known about the chemical; the test turned negative by 12 dpo. I'm thinking that my body can't be thrown that far off from such a brief encounter with pregnancy. And I'm thinking my body will ovulate when it's ready again.

Did anyone else forgo waiting?
