I stopped working about a month before my due date and kept busy with baby prep stuff. Everyday I had a list of stuff to get done like prepping the cloth diapers, organizing the dresser and closet, deep cleaning the house, etc. I was able to keep myself busy up until my due date and was in surprisingly good spirits but when her due date came and went I was OVER IT and was kicking myself for not agreeing to be induced right away...well i eventually went into labor on my own 2 days later but those 2 days were TORTURE!

Tell me about it! I am 36 and a half weeks and about to lose it! Everything tastes like crap today, and I am the worst mood from being so uncomfortable and lack of sleep. I keep reminding myself that I am almost there, but a month feels like an eternity right now! I'm done complaining.

I was the same way, it drove me crazy not knowing! It didn't help that every time I called my mom or MIL, they'd freak out and say, "is it time? should we go to the hospital????" And I would say no, I just wanted to know if you wanted to go to dinner tonight. I filled my time doing things that people said would help start labor, like walking a lot and eating certain foods.

I ended up going into labor the night before my due date, and had her on my due date.

@Mrsbells: I didn't tell people my due date. I told them "the first half of April" for the longest time & then as I got close, like 37/38 wks, I told them "Soon".... Had a few not really like not being told but I REALLY didn't want to get bombarded! lol

I just yesterday got a couple "When can we expect baby" posts on my FB, but considering I'm 6 days past due I feel pretty okay about being asked.

Oddly enough once I hit 39 1/2 weeks I was okay with waiting. Until I thought about my upcoming "possible" biophysical u/s anyways... then I had to find my resolve again. lol

Now I'm back to being good, but still thinking that the full moon tonight is my key! tehe

My due date is Monday. My last day of work was yesterday, a little earlier than I had planned, but my blood pressure has gone up a little so home to rest.

What is making the waiting harder for me is all the phone calls and texts. I'm used to my mom calling to check up on me, but now other family members are doing it and it's a bit annoying. My MIL has taken to texting me in these last few weeks--and we don't normally text each other. I know everyone means well, but it's driving me insane!

I'm still only 34 weeks and the anticipation is slowly killing me. My maternity leave begins April 27th and I am officially wicked bored/tired of working! DH seems to think she will arrive early. I hope he is right!

Best wishes! I have to say baby out is so much better than baby in, at least compared to the last few weeks of pregnancy. Try and pamper yourself a bit and rest up when you can, labor's a lot of work!

I think my husband was more antsy than I was, he kept waking up and saying today's the day, which then got me all riled up, to the point where I decided no day was the day and I would stay pregnant forever and even when I started having contractions decided they were just a bluff and I still would be pregnant the next day and it would be like the movie Groundhog's Day where every morning my husband would wake up and say today's the day

Well at least I'm not the only one who feels this way. Originally i wanted the baby to come after her due date but now I just want her to come on time or maybe early lol.. Everyone at work keeps asking me when the baby is due. I feel like people think the due date is the definite date the baby will arrive. they dont seem to get it that is just a rough estimate.

@chopsuey119- yea, it was intense. I kept going to the doctor, to monitor my fluids and blood pressure and everytime the doctor would say "looks like everything is great, she's just not ready!", I'd want to punch them in the throat. I refrained, only because I knew they'd be essential when I was finally in labor. Hahaha. 10 days was the most they'd let me go over my due date. And, silly LO decided, just as they were about to induce me, that she was finally ready.

I worked all the way up until DS made his appearance. When I was first pregnant I said that it would be great if DS was a week or two late because then my return to work from my maternity leave would line up perfectly with DH being off from teacher for the summer.

Apparently DS listened very well! My due date came and went and everyone at work made stupid comments, like asking "are you still pregnant?" Well DUH! Anyway, I worked a full week past my due date waiting and finally was induced at 41 weeks and 3 days because DS was measuring BIG (and he was, 10lbs 9oz).

Good luck and hang in there! Walk a lot, drink a lot of water and if you are really antsy, you can get busy (wink, wink) and try to get labor started!

Honestly, it really was the worst. My LO was 10 days late. By the tenth day, I was prepared to give myself a c-section at home. I kid, I kid. But I was sooooo ready to get labor over with and meet my baby! The wondering what the details of your labor will be is tough. My best advice is to stay busy (within reason, you can't be TOO active). And do all the things you and your SO really enjoy doing together. Because when baby comes, those things are harder, if not impossible to do for awhile.

I hear you!! I was the opposite... NOT working and it drove me CRAZY!! I think we went out to eat every single night because it was the only thing that made me happy. I was SO impatient. That last week before the baby came was probably the hardest!!!

I'm 38 weeks 5 days, so i have 9 days to my due date... I still work full time and its actually driving me crazy wondering when I will go into labor and if it will happen before or after my due date, and if I'll be home or out in public. For those of you that went into labor naturally how did you deal with the waiting and anticipation? There is a part of me that just wants the baby to come today but then another part of me that wants to enjoy every last day of "Freedom" before the baby arrives. Waiting for labor is so intense
