I read this too and my pediatrician asked if lo ate cheerios at her 9 month apt. She said it was fine for her to eat.... So we started giving her grains after that.

We don't do grains at home. She only gets rice if we're out to eat at Chipotle or Thai food or something.

We didn't do much baby cereal but we did introduce pasta and rice before she was a year, the girl loves it.

Breast milk does have amylase in it to help with the digestion of starches and while it takes awhile for kiddos to produce adult levels of amylase they're also not eating adult size portions. So we took the route of making sure we didn't overload her with starches but we didn't avoid them. She didn't really eat any solids till 6 months though.

We're not giving grains until he is at least one...and then we will start on quinoa first (we eat that instead of rice usually anyways).
It'll basically be veggies, fruit and meat before the one year mark.

Same! I read about their lack of that digestive enzyme so we focus mainly on fruits and veggies,

We have given a little rice when we eat it, quinoa and also I did give him a little toast but its sprouted wheat bread so easier to digest,

Good for you for researching :)

We skipped rice cereal but started introducing a small amount of grains at about 8 months. A few times a week I will give him a cracker or veggie soup with a little pasta in it. Occasionally I give him a few bites of my croissant because he loves it! His diet is still mostly veggies, fruit, and protein though, and I plan to keep it that way.
