That is my personality though, I can't just "wing it." I was expecting things to take a bit longer to normalize, but oftentimes your cycle can regulate pretty quickly. Sometimes it takes a while but other times it happens quickly. I was off of birth control for over a year before I had a regular cycle and signs that I was ovulating. That said, I removed my birth control a few months before we were ready to start trying, and we just switched to condoms. Just get off the pill when you are close to ready and use condoms until you are officially ready to TTC. For now, I would take prenatal vitamins. Like others have said, it could take one month or a year. It just depends but if you aren't ready, you aren't ready. Good luck! You should weigh your tolerance for an oops baby with your success rate for birth control with your desire for a specific birthday. So when we first started TTC, I absolutely did not want to risk being pregnant until November and did not want a summer baby. I went off of the pill and it took 2 months to get a period. Which will probably be 2019 or a little bit later. I am currently on the pill and have been for about 4 years now. With that being said I am not sure when I should come off of birth control before we start trying or what I should be doing leading up to when we ttc.
