The little girl I nanny has been taking "marathon" naps- 3.5 hours or more! The mom and I agree that she clearly needs sleep. I never wake her up and the mom agrees. Even when she wake up at 5 pm, she still goes to bed at 7:30-ish!

Let the babies sleep!

Usually I will wake him up if his nap is going to interfere with bedtime, but if he's sick I'll let him sleep (especially if he hasn't been sleeping well on top of being sick) and just deal with the night repercussions.

Poor baby (and poor mama). I hope he feels better soon!

I posted an almost identical thread this morning! Mine woke up once I hit submit. My usual rule is to not let lo sleep past 4:30 but if she's sick I let her sleep as much as she wants.

DS's sleep has been a total crap shoot the past week (waking every hour or even less!); and this week, he got really sick (he has RSV) so crappy sleep continues since his coughing wakes him up. He's currently napping, and it's been 3.5 hours!!! Am I screwed tonight for night time sleep? Should I wake him or let him sleep?
