Now at 19.5 months it's usually 5.

@delight: @lawbee11: I'm glad you say every day is different--I thought it was just us and wondered if we should be seeing more consistent times, though I guess not for a while.

@Foodnerd81: it's usually around 1.5hrs between last nap and bedtime....same as with any naps during the day. She goes down between 6-7pm at the moment depending on when her last nap ends. S sometimes starts to get tired around the 1hr mark and everyone keeps commenting how she doesn't stay awake long enough for her age. Seeing C does the same is reassuring :)

Our last nap is at 4:00 - 5:00 and bedtime is at 7:00pm. I try to stay as strict about that last nap and bedtime as possible.

If we miss that nap and/or bedtime, our night is f'd!

Although, right now sleep is back to being nightmarish because of something... 6month sleep regression, teething, wonder week.....

It's different for us every day. It's normally around 1.5-2 hours. Sometimes we can stretch it to 3. I actually find that she goes down easier and sleeps better when it's closer to 3 than 1.5....it's almost like she's not tired enough if it's 1.5.

This stuff confuses me endlessly. Our Ped told us that he should only be awake a MAX of 2 hours. Of course that doesn't always work out, but it's what we aim for, even before bed. But then I hear how great people are doing with the 2-3-4 system. Sigh.

Long story short: 2 hours.

LO is 4.5 months and still takes 3-4 naps a day. She's usually only awake for 1.5-2 hours between naps. Every day is different! Last night she had a third nap from 4:15-5:15. I put her to bed around 7.

@Foodnerd81: 2 hours and LO will be 6 months this week. She can sometimes go 2.5 hours if bedtime routine takes a while. Any longer and meltdown city.

But she naps a lot/really well during the day-- 3 naps total.

LO is 10 weeks & we do EASY, but the last "round" I keep her up , give her a bath, feed her again & put her down. It usually ends up being 2.5 hours instead of her usual 1.5 hours between naps.

I think it was about three hrs? It's always longer in the evenings for us... At 15 months its up 3.5-4 hrs, nap, then up for about 6 or so hrs!

We now do about 3 hours between lat nap and bed time routine starting. And the he's asleep a half hour after that. For a long time it was about 2-2.5 hours, until we went to 2 naps. The it became 3.5-4.

I recommend the group Teaching Your Baby and Toddler to Sleep on babycenter.com: http://community.babycenter.com/groups/a199215/teaching_your_baby_and_toddler_to_sleep

If you click on the Acronym Buster link at the top of the page, it has a link to a google doc that includes wake times by age...I find it (and that group in general) SUPER helpful!

ETA: We did 2-3-4 - although it usually ended up being 2-3-3.5 -starting from around 5.5 months until recently (8 months), but now her wake times have lengthened and so we do 2.5/3.25/3.5-ish.

We, too, aim for the 2-3-4 schedule now at 6 months old. At 5 months, LO was still taking a 30 minute nap around 5:00-5:30, then awake for 1-1.5 hours until bedtime.

We aim for the 2,3,4 schedule. 1st nap 2 hours after wake up, 2nd nap 3 hours from wake up of 1st, and bedtime 4 hours from the second nap.

*ideally* our day goes as follows:
7:30am-wake
9:30-10:30- nap
1:30-3:30-nap
7:30p-bed

The last month 4 hours is the max. 5 months she would fall asleep on the way home from day, 30min nap, and would go to sleep an hour later.

How long do you aim for wake time between the last nap and bedtime? It's a constantly shifting thing for me and I never feel like I got it right.

C is 5 months, I'm sure it changes based on age. Her sleep is crap right now because of teething anyway, poor kid. But in general what works best for your LO?
