Oh I should also mention that my son once swaddle wean learned to roll back to belly and then started sleeping on his tummy. There was nothing we could do - he would just roll to his tummy and that's how he slept.

Yes, the 4 month regression is enough to send a mom to an asylum. I suggest transitioning to the crib first. Once we moved LO from the Nap Nanny to the crib she immediately started sleeping better. Once he's used to that get rid of the swaddle. The sooner he learns to soothe himself the better. LO loves to roll around in her crib, and it helps her to be able to get comfortable to sleep. Sometimes we let LO fuss a little before naps and bedtime too.

The 4 month sleep regression. My son definitely went through a rough patch and at 4 months his naps became terrible (30 mins) no matter what I tried.

Here's what we did that ultimately got us through it (in this order)

- We transitioned from the R&P to crib
- We swaddle weaned
- He loved the freedom to roll around in his crib, eat his hands, etc.
- We started letting him cry a little before naps and bed

His night sleep improved/went back to normal by 4.5 months and his naps magically improved at 5.5 months.

At around 4 months old my LO was flipping over in her sleep..
She used to wake up crying and i would have to flip her back over, but eventually she got used to it and would fall asleep on her tummy. I think a lot of 4+ months olds like to sleep on their bellies?
Have you tried having him sleep in his crib/bed?

My LO, Baylen, is just over 15 weeks and we've hit some bumps in the road to night sleeping. For a few weeks he was sleeping from around 8pm-2am, waking for a feeding, and going back to sleep for a couple more hours.
Recently though, he's started going to bed between 8-9pm and waking at 12am for a feeding, then waking every 2 hours after that. In the past couple of days, his 1st waking time has started to shift earlier and earlier, so that now he is going to sleep and waking up 1-2hours after that (and then subsequently every 2 hours afterwards).

The women in my mom's group often talk about a period of 4 month wakefulness that seems to occur as babies are starting to learn to do many news things. Most of them have LO's that wake 5-8 times per night starting around 4 months and usually lasting for the whole month (or longer).

Baylen sleeps in his RNP, in our room, with white noise and swaddled. On top of waking a lot during the night, he has also started to wake at every little noise that happens in the room. If DH gets into bed, he wakes up. If I toss in my sleep, he wakes up. If the dog shakes her head, he wakes up.

I know it's just a phase, and things will change as quickly as they did for us to get here...but just wanted to hear if anyone has any tips/tricks, or wants to commiserate with me haha?
