It is amazing she is able to wake and tell she has to pee. DH and I are alternating getting up with her so it's bearable for now. (From my perspective, b/c the kids I see can't wake at night and have longstanding issues with bed wetting.) We trained early so it was several months. The thing that helps a bit is limit liquids after dinner time. If he had to go at night, he was able to get out of bed, use the potty and get back into bed by himself without waking us. Sometimes she wakes up and asks to go and others she holds it all night. Still, there are others where she will just sit there and pee before waking us up. I so hate trudging to the basement to throw in a load of sheets in the middle of the night. I think she'll eventually be able to hold it longer. We don't give any drinks after dinner to help. She did have to go but it wasn't a lot. Hoping she realizes she can hold it for a while but I guess only time will tell. </p> <p>Good point about the car. Her son is 10 months younger than my J and his daycare is different about how they go about potty training from what our daycare does, but had some good points on the take home sheet. One was "you don't ask, 'do you need to go potty?', you tell them, 'it's time to use the potty'. especially before car trips, bed times and when they wake up in the morning." I thought that was pretty good. I'm always asking J if he has to go, when I should be telling him it's time to go.<br /> It also mentioned on the sheet, no water before bed and no cup in the car unless they ask for it. - I'm so used to just giving J something to take with him! We put lo in a pull up overnight but she's been waking to pee once a night since day 1. She keeps her pullup dry. </p> <p>Does this night waking last forever? It only takes a couple of minutes to get her to the potty, but I have a hard time falling back to sleep. I'm so proud of her but so tired!!! </p>
