@Thehistoryofus: Ugh, what do you do when she wakes up at 4:30am??

@zippylef: I would love to just put her back down but it really messes up our schedule for the day when she wakes up at 8-8:30am because i end up having to put her to bed at 8. I'm also afraid that if i put her back down she'll treat it as a night feed, and start waking up earlier and earlier (like the last time). I hope it is just an adjustment period!

@Andrea: Right now she's probably getting 13.5 hours of sleep, whereas before she was getting 15.
@sarac: When she was waking up at 4-5am, she would nurse for about 30 minutes. Now she nurses as much as she does during the day, which is about 10-15 minutes. You think she would be hungrily eating away, but she actually loses interest after 5 minutes. :(

My LO has been doing this for a month or so and she's 16 months. Between 4:30 am and 6:30 am she wakes up crying. I think she is just up for the day and hungry. She doesn't want to be left alone in a dark room (a bit of separation anxiety).

I'm guessing she is hungry if she hasn't eaten in 12 hours? Sounds like she is getting plenty of sleep so maybe she's just hungry.

My baby wakes up crying when she's hungry. That's already a long time to go without eating.

I find that when C wakes up screaming, it's because she's not really ready to be awake yet. When she's ready to be awake, she wakes up super happy. Have you tried feeding her and putting her right back down? Sometimes when C is really worked up, I'll pick her up, change/feed and then let her play for 30 minutes or so before putting her back down.

It did take us a few weeks after she started STTN before she went to a later wake-up time. Maybe she's still just adjusting?

That is just about 12 hours of sleep so she could just be ready to get up for the day?

I thought we had successfully night weaned a couple of weeks ago, only to have her wake-ups get earlier and earlier and i could no longer say we night weaned her! She would sleep from 7:30-5am, nurse for 30 minutes and then go back down until 8:30am.

We attempted night weaning again, this time with DH going in to comfort her and putting her back down. It seems to have worked because she'll now wake up around 6-6:15am (we put her to sleep around 7:15-7:30pm). The only problem is that she wakes up crying really hard and i let her cry until 6:30am because that is the earliest i will allow for her day to start. It's been like this for the last 2 days.

Could it be that she's crying because she hasn't gotten enough sleep? Is it related to separation anxiety? Any advice on what to do? LO is 8.5 months now.
