I have miscarried twice and both times we saw a heartbeat first...the 2nd one we saw a heartbeat 4 times!!! (I had early and frequent ultrasounds because of the first miscarriage). But unfortunately still miscarried around 11 weeks. Of course, that's not a common scenario.</p> <p>Praying that isn't the case for you. Truly, the odds are that you'll be fine, but I honestly never thought I'd have a miscarriage, especially the first one. I hope that everything goes smoothly with your pregnancy! I would encourage you to get an ultrasound or at least confirm the heartbeat before you announce. I lost my second pregnancy to a missed miscarriage that was detected at 12 weeks after a normal checkup with ultrasound that showed a heartbeat at 8 weeks. Our family knew earlier, but it was Facebook official at 11-12 weeks. If your doctor has no concerns, and you're feeling great I would say go for it! A wedding is a fabulous time to announce, everyone will get to congratulate you! </p> <p>I didn't have an ultrasound until 19 weeks the first time, and we still announced earlier.
