I'm in Texas as well but lived in FL during winter (LO was 2-3 months).
I had some long sleeve bodysuits, but I bought WAY too many hoodies/jackets/sweaters. He didn't wear half of them.
We rarely went out, and it never got that cold.

I'm in Florida, your weather sounds similar to ours. She wore leggings under her dresses, or just legging and a top with a jacket. If it was super cold (for us) I'd layer and put long sleeves under dresses and then a jacket on top of that.

@Bookish: Exactly!!! I can count on one hand how many times it was still in the 30's low 40's here in the afternoon..... it's a rarity! lol

Up in north Texas it does tend to stay cooler more often though so that would causes me to want more long sleeved/wintery type outfits.

@lawbee11: I'm in Texas as well and I plan on doing layers. I figure it's the way I dress in winter, so it should work for her. Plus, as you well know, it can be 30 in the morning and 70+ by afternoon. I've bought a lot of light jackets and plan to layer with outfits... I'll put her in a onesie under her outfit if it ever actually gets cold!

At that age, I would still get long-sleeve bodysuits to snap under pants/skirts/whatever so you know LO is covered. A soft, lightweight jacket is good for outings, and then some blankets as needed. That's what got us through a winter in VA when DS was small, and it will be our plan for this one too in TN.

South Texas or North Texas? (it makes a difference).

We're in South Texas & for the most part P wore tights under skirts/dresses, jeans/leggings and her regular tops. She had some long sleeved tops but for the most part putting a sweater or jacket on her for outside that was easily removable once inside worked best.

I am shopping online for some clothes for DD for the fall. We live in Texas and it never gets super cold here (rarely below freezing and never snows). It probably won't even start to get cool outside until November.

We have a ton of hand-me-down pants/leggings from my SIL, but not many long-sleeve tops. What do you dress your LO in during the winter? Am I better off getting some long-sleeve bodysuits to wear with the pants? Or actual long-sleeve tops? Or do you dress him/her in layers (like a short-sleeve onesie/top with a light jacket on top?).

DD will be 3-6ish months during the winter, so what types of clothes/outfits do you think would be best for that age range?
