thanks so much for the great recs. dreaming about this trip + hot chocolate are all that's getting me through this winter weather advisory. i'm about to send DH a list of like 15 different options all of which i equally want to go to.

@nwm i thought that too re: bermuda but my bff went on her babymoon in mid-April last year and said it was perfect- nice and warm for sunbathing but not really hot. i think even a few weeks later (late April/early May) would make it even better.

@nwm: Seconding the Aria, we've stayed there several times. Nice and centrally located, too. They also have a very good spa that you can get a day pass to for about $35, and it gives you access to the hot/cold plunge pools, salt room, hot stone room, etc.

@nwm: We stayed at the Aria. We stayed in a suite that gave us access to their Sky Pool (I think that’s what it’s called) which was much more secluded and higher end than the other more “party pools”. I knew being pregnant and still sort of first trimester yucky I wouldn’t have any patience for the wasted bachelor party guys at the main pools. It was very nice.

@Mrs. High Heels: oh great tips, thanks!

@SweetiePie: yesssss that sounds like exactly what i want. did you like where you stayed/do you mind sharing where it was?

just found a list of quiet pools in vegas that seems promising, haha! mandalay bay was definitely on it.

@lioneyes: awesome, thanks! is that right about bermuda? i was worried the average temps seemed too low, but i will take a look, bermuda always looks so beautiful.

@nwm: I was also going to suggest Vegas. Mandalay Bay has a really nice pool area with a lazy river. Bellagio has an awesome spa where you can go in for just $25 for the entire day (may have gone up since that was the price like 10 years ago hahaa) just to use the facilities (treatments like facials/massages would be extra).

We went to Scottsdale/Sedona (went in June when it was HOT, but late Aril/May would be perfect.) Have also heard Bermuda is great that time of year, and Zika free.

@nwm: Vegas would be good too if you just want to lounge and eat good food. I went when I was 14 weeks and it was actually very relaxing. Vegas is what you want it to be :-) We went to good dinners around 6/7 and were in bed by 9:30-ish every night. Laid by the pool or shopped all day. It was nice.

Sedona is #1 on our list. We also thought about San Diego or Bermuda. We love Vegas! We went for the first time last year. The only downside was the cigarette smoke was too much for me to handle in some of the casinos and can linger into the connecting restaurants.

@Raspberry: This is what I was also going to suggest - Vegas! You can lay by the pool then go to the spa for a massage, your husband can go hiking in Red Rock Canyon, you can meet up for a nice dinner.

Palm Springs could be perfect for that. Not sure of your budget but there’s a Ritz-Carlton there that is amazing.

We did our babymoon in Sedona and had a fantastic time! We stayed at the Hilton there - excellent pool, spa for me, golf for him. Another thought is San Diego - Coronado Beach is gorgeous!

Not sure how you feel about it for a babymoon, but the first thing that popped into my mind for continental US +pool +cabana was Vegas. :silly:

My babymoon was spent waist deep in the swamps of the Florida Keys before Zika really took hold of everyone’s consciousness. Your idea of luxuriating in a cabana sounds awesome though! For Christmas we went to the Gaylord Opryland. Some of the other warmer locations looked pretty spectacular.

i feel like this gets asked a lot but i searched the archives and didn't see exactly what i was looking for.

we're thinking of doing a babymoon/anniversary trip (first one sans LO1) in late april/very early may. my ideal for this trip would be to lie on a beach in the caribbean, but that is out because of zika and i'm also eliminating florida even though i think it's technically off the zika list by now, because i just don't want to deal with any anxiety at all.

since that's still early for warm weather on the east coast, and my main goal is to be able to be out in warm sunshine and swim in a pool, i'm thinking california/arizona are probably the right calls for us. but pretty flexible if there are other locations in/near continental US that fit this bill. DH will probably want the opportunity to walk around/hike outside the hotel proper, but honestly i just want to luxuriate in a cabana.

any recommendations for specific hotels/resorts that might fit the bill? thanks in advance!
