Oh geez it's 40-40-20 lol. Derp

@mrs pen, good luck! It really helps me out

@stormy, I also hear 500 but don't hold me to it. I would cut a few hundred calories off and see how it impacts milk production and add or decrease until you find a sweet spot. I started at 1900 calories and have to adjust every so often

@blackbird: so what's the other 20%? :silly:
@MrsStormy: I know you didn't ask me, but generally about 500 if baby is getting all nutrition from you. If you're supplementing or once they start eating solids, about 300.

I'm almost 11 months pp and hate hate hate my body with a passion I've never known. I started to cry yesterday when I realized it was +15C out. :sad:

@Running Elley: spray tans, sister! ;)

I'm feeling so gross. I'm pregnant but my thighs, arms and face look BAD. Every summer I get a little self-conscious to get back into warm weather clothing so I work out about 6 days a week. It helps me to feel more secure even if I'm not at my ideal weight.

I'm feeling pretty good about my body just because I've been working SO hard so I'm pretty proud of how well I'm done. BUT I feel totally self conscious because I am like...the shade of a ghost. I look practically transparent. =/

I feel terrible about my body! I have a serious pregnant belly, and I'm almost 7 months post partum! I don't even have the squishy belly everyone is talking about because it is still pouched out! I am just about my pre pregnancy weight, but my body is just not the same. I also got most of my stretch marks on my outer thighs, so no bathing suit is going to cover that!

@blackbird: By any chance do you have any idea how many calories someone would need to add to their diet while breastfeeding? Like if I wanted to maintain a diet more similar to yours, does that make sense?

@mrs. pen, you bet. I have mine set to 1700 calories (i do not eat back exercise calories whenever possible), 40% protein, 20% fat, 20% carbs. I don't always hit those values but i do try to aim for a lot of protein so that when i lose weight, i just lose fat

@mrs. pen, you'd be surprised if you log it. You could be overdoing one type of food OR not eating enough! Both will sabotage you. I eat healthy, but I have to count and weigh and measure in order to actually DROP some weight. I can maintain just fine if I eyeball it. But I can't otherwise.

ETA: Because the other side to that is that there may also be sneaky calories in your diet as well.

I feel the same way - I'm 19 months PP and feel like a big ol pile of poop. I can't lose to save my life while I'm nursing. I wonder how long I can get away with wearing spanx without sweating buckets??? Not that it's helping much *sigh*
I miss my pre-preg spring/summer wardrobe... and it's depressing to still be wearing maternity pants.

@blackbird: I admittedly haven't done measurements. I had been meaning to back when I first started running but kept forgetting.

I do eat pretty healthy. I never eat sugar other than honey, I don't eat many grains so I focus mainly on produce and some meat. Like every lunch I had a huge salad, dinner is usually something like baked chicken and vegetables or a roast with veggies, and breakfast is yogurt and homemade granola.

it really comes down to what you're eating. I bet if you tighten that up, the weight will start to come off. You're putting in the hard work, SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE.

Yup. I need to lose weight stat. Can't hide behind layers in the spring and summer. I lost all the baby weight a while ago, but my breastfeeding weight immunity has disappeared, haha. I gained 5lbs. and all the weight that used to go to my hips/butt now goes straight to my stomach. I look like I did when I was almost 12 weeks pregnant, but it's not cute with no baby inside!
