@Andrea: she goes to bed very late. She thought about starting her in preschool soon but doesn't want to deal with changing her sleep schedule and she rarely naps so she'd have to start that too. She's pregnant again though so I have a feeling the next baby will be an early riser.

@NYCaliMama: i know. don't you miss the innocence? lol.

@Pipers Mommy: same here. DH and I went away and we were up at 6 am anyway!

@skibobrown: i used to go to bed at 8 pm and sometimes not even bother eating dinner just so that i could get the max number of hours in before the LO was up for a feeding!

@artbee: what time does this 2 year old go to bed, must be late? you can only have those types of schedules if your toddler stays home anyway. my daughter has to be up for daycare during the week.

@skibobrown: your body really does adjust when the baby comes. I've always had to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day or I got a migraine. Obviously that doesn't happen with newborns, but I was fine.

She might get lucky. I have a friend whose 2 year old wakes up at 11.

At least the dogs have prepared me for this aspect of parenthood! They are pretty rigid with their morning routine.

@skibobrown: I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think your body copes with it because it has to... at least that's what I'm telling myself! :)

I'm like your friend. I love my sleep, and I can't act like a normal human being without my 8 hours (at least). I also have an immensely hard time waking up before sunrise, which is around 7:30 in the winter. DH and I are trying to wrap our head around what is going to happen to our sleep patterns once the baby arrives, but right now I can't even fathom it.

so funny, my DH and I are actually having our LO do her first overnight with my parents tomorrow night and we are all excited to be able to sleep in on Sunday and we both are like who are we kidding? Sleeping in will mean we are up at 6:15 rather than the usually 5:15/5;30! I am trying to even remember the last time I slept in past 8.

I was IMing my bestie yesterday and she was complaining about having trouble sleeping in her second trimester (1st pregnancy). The conversation was something like this:

Her: I am having trouble sleeping already.
Me: Oh no, are you waking up to pee a lot?
Her: No, I am sleeping 7-8 hours straight but then no more.
Me: Um, do you need more than 8 hours?
Her: Yes, I like to sleep in until 9 or 10 on the weekends.

Bwahahahahaha. Gosh, I don't have the heart to tell her what is coming up real soon!!
