Oh goodness yes! I feel sorry for anyone who pops in because it is not a good sight! I am all about comfort so no make up and messy hair is the norm!

I'm curious to see how this ends up going with me. Obviously I'll have a LO to care for the second time around, but with my first pregnancy I was constantly on my feet at a very physical job that really took it's toll on me. Now I'm a SAHM and can always call my MIL or someone if I need some help on a day I'm feeling extra sick or tired.

@Lozza: That's a good point - I never thought about the DH factor!

Oh heck yeah.
I think it also makes a big difference that when I was pregnant with #1, not only did I have more time to take care of myself, but I also had DH's more or less undivided attention to take care of me when I needed it. DH was often the one who made sure I was taking my prenatals and drinking water and eating healthy and such... now, because DH has taken on so many extra duties around the house and with LO, I'm on my own, but I'm also working full-time and gestating and parenting too!

Yes! It's so much harder this time! I work part time evening and weekends so DH is home with J when I'm not...but it also makes me extra tired during the day when I have to do things to keep J busy and out of trouble and have only slept 5 or 6 hours. These are definitely the toughest months of my life...harder than the newborn days for sure.

My sister is a SAHM and found it very difficult to take great care of herself while pregnant with baby #2. Don't beat yourself up - do the best you can. You should try and take advantage of being away from your LO while at work and carve out a few minutes to have lunch and rest. I know it's tough the days are so busy and get away from you. I ALWAYS work through lunch, but since I've gotten pregnant I've been forcing myself to leave for lunch, even if that means I just go out to the car for 30 minutes and eat and take a bit of a rest. While you're at work is probably your best chance for a little rest!

I'm typically horrible about drinking water, too. I've found that carrying a large water bottle around every day helps remind me to drink better than refilling a small bottle or glass constantly.

Definitely harder. I don't take care of myself as it is. Add in the extra fatigue and exhaustion from chasing around a toddler, and I just don't have any time to focus on myself. Luckily my food intake has improved, but mainly out of necessity to control my GD.

I just don't know what to sacrifice. A could eat conscience good but it's not as healthy and more expensive. And it's not like I have time to budget or work out. Ugh. One step at a time.

@matador84: Oh gosh I'm totally with you. I'm having terrible morning sickness, and feel wildly exhausted. I was so good about drinking water, eating right, etc the first time. Now I just feel like I'm in survival mode. I'm hoping the 2nd tri isn't this bad

It just depends day to day. I work part time, and I'm in awe over you ladies who work full time while pregnant and with a toddler. My on-site work days sound pretty much like yours, but my SAH/WAH days are much more relaxed. I definitely bump around my WAH schedule for the days I can't get off the couch, then I encourage independent play and more TV than I should. I try to take advantage of my good days and do something fun out of the house.

At work I'm usually so busy that I forget I'm pregnant. Some days at home it's the same thing too- some days... This pregnancy had definitely flown by since I've been so busy with one thing or another!

ETA- I always eat crappy while pregnant. I just accept it as survival since nothing ever sounds good.

Being pregnant with a toddler was way harder! I worked right up until the end. I was exhausted all the time. You just need to make time for you(trust me I know easier said than done)

aww. I stayed at home with DD when I was pregnant and took pretty good care of myself, but obviously I took way better care of myself the first time I was pregnant.

Being pregnant with a toddler is tough.. hang in there!

or beyond? I am pretty sure I eat terrible, I literally didn't drink ANY water today until I got home from work, practically skip lunch every day at work because I'm so busy and collapse into bed each night. I really need to take better care of myself, but it's so hard working full time and chasing around a LO.
