Baby #2 always had a shallow latch and I felt like there was nothing I could do but pump. Luckily, as she grew, her latch was deeper and more comfortable. LO#1 was super easy to nurse, didn't even understand that nursing could hurt, and LO#2 was HORRIBLE. My nipple bled, I got mastitis, it never got better, eventually quit at 3 months because he wasn't even gaining weight. I remember thinking that this must be why most people want to quit after the first week. Very opposite experience than I had with my daughter.
