It hasn't been a priority because having 2 kids is tiring! But now DD2 is a year old so I am ready to get back to my old weight.

It was a priority for me. A lot of my identity is being physically fit and it was a hit to be so sluggish and flabby. It makes me a happier person to take time to exercise and be happy with my appearance so I made it a priority. It DID make it easier that LO was an easy baby and let me get my zzz's so I could get up early to get a workout and didn't feel like I was sacrificing time with him (as he was usually still sleeping ). With #2 on the way, we'll see how it goes this time around.

I thought it would be, but honestly, All my energy has gone iti just keeping the boys fed, diapered, sleeping (or not, as the case often has been), and getting my stuff done at work. I knew twins would be a lot of work, but I didn't expect to feel like we were in survival mode for so long. At 10 months pp, I am just now feeling like I can start focusing on my own health and body. I'm amending the "9 month on 9 months off" thing to "18 months off," so I get 9 months per baby. ;-)

Yes, it was a priority. However, it took me a while to work up the motivation after dealing w/ PPD and breastfeeding issues. LO is 19 months old and I'm not quite there, but I'm close. I want to wait until I am back to pre-pregnancy weight before I TTC #2, but we'll see.

Yes. I gained almost 60lbs and getting back to normal me was so, so, so important for me. I got back to 145lbs or so, ran a 6 month pp 10km race, then had three surgeries in May (1) and July (2) and let myself go. Got KU in August and am just a lost cause currently, lol. Will work my butt off again post baby #2. I am not crazy nuts on tonedness, because I hope to get KU again, but the weight and getting fit/being able to run again is super important to me. I also have two lovely scars now from the IUD surgery, so I am interested to see what that does to my motivation to get my nice tummy back, I can't imagine showing my tummy again with the one scar :(

I thought it would be and at first, I even tried to lose some of the weight, but then I just stopped caring, and here I am at 10.5 months, and I still don't really care! I keep pretending to care, but then I stop, haha! I even finally caved and bought pants in a bigger size!

For me, I had lost all the baby weight by the time LO got home from the hospital, HOWEVER I thought it would be a priority to get my stomach back flat...and 15 months later I'm still rocking my mom pooch. I hate taking time away from LO to workout, even though I know I need too.

I thought it would be, and although I thought about it constantly, I'm only now starting to get really serious about losing it at 1 year PP. I feel like I took his first year easy on myself and enjoyed spending all my time with him, but now that he is more self sufficient I can spend 30-45 min a day for myself! He didn't, and still doesn't STTN so that also played a huge factor in just not having the physical or emotional energy to excercise. We want to TTC sometime after he turns 2 so losing this weight needs to happen soon!

I thought it would be, especially since I gained 70lbs. After I had her, just getting through the days through the PPD was hard enough.

It took until after she turned a year and my emotions leveled out again before I finally lost the rest of it. I was at pre-pregnancy weight by the time she was 18 months old.

I didn't have any baby weight, I had breastfeeding weight that I wasn't able to lose until I'd cut way back on nursing. I wanted to lose it, but I just did not know how to diet successfully while nursing.

I am just starting to feel ready to try and make it more of a priority. LO is getting closer to a year and I'm finally not feeling as much pressure to produce as much milk. But up until now as much as I would have liked to drop the weight I just haven't been able to make it a priority.

I gained 50lbs while while pregnant and 40lbs came off in the hospital.. Not sure how! I didn't really prioritize losing the rest, so I am still 6-8lbs over pre-pregnancy weight (fluctuates) at 7 months pp. I, too, am surprised at how much I don't really care!

No it hasn't been on my mind at all. I did cross fit until I went into labor and I thought I would be back in the gym immediately. Well, I made it back to the gym at 2 weeks but not to workout just to hangout and get out of the house. My priorities have been survival, milk, and sleep. Now at 10.5 months LO is just starting to sleep through the night and I am looking to get back into shape. I would go back to CF but we moved so I have to find something else now.

Honestly, yes. This was the first time in my life my weight had ever fluctuated (I gain over 40 lbs!) and I wanted to feel like myself again. It did take effort and was a bit frustrating at times, but I made sure to eat fairly healthy, exercise and by 6 mo pp I was very happy with where I was at. I wasn't a fanatic about it but it was important to me. :)

With #1 it wasn't. I gained 45 with him and still had 23 to go when I got pregnant again (at 6 months pp).

With #2 it's totally a priority. I just want to feel like myself and where i am now doesn't feel like me. At 7 weeks PP I'm 4 pounds from pre#2 weight and I can't wait to work on the rest!

I thought I would be super concerned with losing the weight, but it didn't bother me. It just kind of happened to come off quite easy. At 5.5 months PP I'm 10 pounds less than my pre pregnancy weight. I don't know how it happened but I'm not complaining. I guess EBF and walking the dog with a baby attached every day did it for me.

So far, not really...but I'm not even 6 weeks PP. I gained 28 pounds and I think I've lost at least 20 of it, but I haven't checked my weight since the MWs did at my 2 week PP appointment. Anyway, I can't wait to start doing yoga again (was going to go a couple days ago but couldn't get out of the house in time) and, when the weather gets better, to start jogging again. But it's more because those things make me feel good than strictly to lose weight/get my figure back.

It wasn't a main priority. BFing didn't help me shed the weight at all. I gained almost 40 lbs. At five months pp I did the shred for a month straight. But I focused more on eating healthy overall since DS was getting everything from me. I lost all the baby weight by 9 months and at 13.5 months pp, I am starting to want to tone up a bit, but at the same time, I have to push myself to make the time.

Yes. I gained 70 (!!!) pounds with DD and I'm normally a very small, fit person (I was 116 when I got pregnant). So I worked my butt off for a whole year to get back in shape and regain my muscle tone. I only lost 60 when I got pregnant with DD but I think I'm in a good place. I will keep it a priority when I'm ready after this pregnancy.

Working out and eating right also makes me feel good about myself. I want to set a healthy example for my daughter. I eat what I want in smaller portions and moderation and work out 3-4x a week.

It wasn't until these past few weeks. I've been hitting it pretty hard so I can actually wear my regular clothes before I get pregnant again. I have 11.6 pounds until "meeting DH" weight! The only thing that remotely works for me is counting calories. So, it's a pain, but totally worth it.

Edited to say, I mainly refused to diet because I was afraid of hurting my supply. I still take Domperidone and the calorie restriction hasn't hurt our nursing.

It wasn't a priority for me...like others said my top priority was taking care of baby and establishing a good milk supply. My top priority was to make sure I could breast feed for at least a year. I was lucky to be the type of person that lost all the baby weight plus some (I gained +50lbs and I'm 5'0") from nursing. I did gain over 10lbs after LO turned a year...I think it was the weaning and I just kind of snacked with her...bad habits. I'm trying to lose the extra weight again so my clothes fit comfortably again but I can't say it's baby weight

It was and it wasn't. I of course wanted to get back to my old shape as quickly as possible but I couldn't really be assed to do anything about it in the initial months. I was constantly hungry due to BF'ing and whilst I don't eat loads of rubbish regularly, I wasn't making a particularly concerted effort to eat super healthy either. I started going back to the gym occasionally at around 4 months pp but maybe once a week at best. Somehow though, by 5 months pp, the weight was gone, my stomach was flat again, and I was back in my old clothes. No idea how that happened but I'm hoping the same magic happens after this baby as well!

@rahlyrah: I'm with you there - I enjoy being in shape and refuse to let being a mum be an excuse to let my body go to hell. Had the weight not come off when it did, I would have made a much more concerted effort to start getting back in shape. But during those initial few months of parenthood, it just wasn't my top priority. I'm sure you'll get there soon!! :-)1

I thought it would be a huge priority, as I was on Weight Watchers right up until I got wicked morning sickness. But I ended up gaining only 20 lbs (I was heavy to start), and had such a tough recovery that it wasn't a priority. Now that I'm 5 months pp, I'm starting to track food, etc. again.
