Price is unfortunately the biggest contender for me since we can't afford much. But quality is a close second. I would pass by a cheap place if I didn't feel totally comfortable.

We chose a daycare that was conveniently located and recommended by a friend whose LO is also attending that daycare.

Money was the biggest factor bit we also wanted what was best for her. So we got the best we could in our budget.

Not really-there is a kindercare nearby that is $300/week. Knowing that a good daycare can run about $200/week, I wasn't willing to spend that much. I don't put much stock in curriculums and fancy stuff for babies. Take good care of her, keep her alive, be flexible, done

Convenience/location was probably the biggest factor

Nope, we ended up going with a place that is by my work verses home. That was because it is $400 a month cheaper, minimum. DH also travels a lot so I would be doing drop off and pick up Mon-Thurs anyway. So we are going to make it work. $4800 a year savings was too much to pass up, when it is a chain school so the only difference was the location.

Ours will be mainly decided by location, followed by price and unfortunately quality may have to fall short. Money is a huge factor in all of my life choices, o I'm far from having it be no object :)

Now that doesn't mean we will pick the crappiest daycare because it is cheap. But first best will probably be out of reach for us

How did finances factor in to your daycare choice? Did you have a budget and go with what you could afford, or did you try to put them in the "best you could find" regardless of what the cost was?

(Just a disclaimer, i put quotations around "best you could find" because what you consider to be the best may not be the same as someone else. And just because you had a budget for childcare, doesn't mean you're not wanting the best for your child either!)
