My kids were the opposite, and nap training was way easier. It only 2 days of naps for them to get it and go down on their own. Night training took several attempts for both kids, but DS was easier than DD.

I did nap training first when my LO was 11wks. It was really tough. It took eleven, but it worked! Three nights ago I decided to night train and it's been so much easier. Nap training brought me my sanity back! No regrets.

Naps took about a month for us. Since I was a mostly SAHM at the time and with LO almost all the time, the crying would really stress me out. He was taking three naps then. So I would usually do the first nap in the crib and the other two either in the car or push him in the stroller for at least an hour. After a month I could put him in his crib every time with no crying. He still sleep great at 20mo! Stick with it mama!

Nap training was a lot harder for us in the sense that he would cry for much longer... Like only 5 minutes at night and I remember he cried off and on for 45 minutes at nap. Eventually, he got it. But naps are also tougher cus im never sure when the nap is over. Sometimes he sits up and cries for 10 minutes and then lays back down. Other times, he cries for 10 and is done napping and is pissed that I didn't already come get him :bummed:

Night training took a week. I think naps took a month or two more (thanks daycare, for nap training! By 8 months, I think she was going down consistently twice a day, though. I can't remember when we started to be able to set her down and walk away and that be that, though

We sleep trained at 4 months successfully. We tried nap training in earnest five or six times but it didn't work until LO weaned at 17 months. I don't know if it was weaning or age.

It's all foggy now, but we did nap training first. It was hard! Then when we decided to do nights, it was much easier than I thought it'd be. 4.5 month old wakes up 1x a night.

We never could nap train. We just rolled with the crappy naps. (E's only good naps were in our arms at that age.) He only started napping regularly in his crib. after about 8 or 9 months. Probably only a handful of times that he did a true twice a day nap. He's a great night sleeper, though, so we figured we'd cut our losses.

Up until 4 nights ago DD 2 (5.5m) took all naps and slept at night in her swing. I was growing increasingly anxious about getting her out of the swing. And her night sleep was soooo crappy. I was lucky to get a 2 hr stretch and most were one hour with a couple 45m thrown in.

Anyway, after 4 nights there is none to minimal crying and she goes 2-4 hr stretches which is pretty good in my book!

But nap times are not improving! She is crying for 20 and only napping for 20! Her average nap is 1-1.5 hours.

Was it harder for you to nap train? How much longer did it take?
