No sign, except maybe feeling more tired/run down the day before? My water broke at 5am.

First, water broke, but I was 39+4, so I had been expecting something to happen.

Second, had a little bit of blood one morning when I wiped, and then my water broke a few hours later. This was completely unexpected since it was only 37+2!

It was a long, slow process for me. Had a show and within a couple days contractions started and were constant, increasing in intensity, yet not "close enough" together until baby was born... 5 days later. My waters were broken for me.

My back hurt and I couldn't sit for long periods of time. I thought I was just uncomfortable because I had been swelling a lot (being monitored for pre-e). But looking back I was totally in labor. I woke up at 1am and felt a pop, my water didn't break but I sprung a leak. It went fairly quickly from there.

ETA: I was only 37w5d so I wasn't expecting to go into labor anytime soon!

I mean, I was 3 days past my due date so it wasn't a surprise. I had my membranes swept that morning and bled a bit. Mucus plug had been coming out for weeks I think. And I started to get very painful, sporadic contractions every hour or so. Like, make you want to vomit or pass out type contractions. But really spread out.

None for me at the time but in retrospect we had literally put the final touches on DD's nursery the day before and I woke up in the middle of the night feeling weird but thinking, oh no, everything is fine, I'm not in labor. I woke up in the morning, peed, and my water broke minutes later!

A week before my due date I lost my mucus plug. But I was still only dilated to a 1 (which I had been for a couple weeks). I never had any contractions or additional bleeding until a week later on my due date. I had my bloody show and then immediately started contracting every 4 minutes and it never slowed down.

@andthewildones: It was interesting. My epidural didn't work, even though they were kind enough to attempt one, and my mom about shot me because they had called earlier and were planning on going out of town for the night and I had told them to go on ahead because nothing was happening!

Well the main "sign" was that it was two days before my due date. Leading up I had a few bouts of contractions here and there, but nothing major or that lasted very long. I was completely sure I would go pat my due date. DH had plans to go golfing an hour and a half away. Woke up in the morning having mild contractions that kept coming, a little bit of bloody show. Debated whether DH should go golfing that day. After a few hours of contractions decided he shouldn't.

So no, the day before I would not have thought I was about to go into labor at all.

I was induced for #1 & 2, soon labor signs. With #3, I had a cervical check on Friday and was 4 cm, so I looked for labor signs all weekend, and had a whole lot of nothing. Sunday night I was going to take my daughter to bed and went to pick her up and my water broke-

I thought I felt one contraction on my due date, but then just had a back backache and kept brushing it off as nothing. 12 hours later my back hurt so bad DH took me to the hospital ( it was nighttime and doctor's office was closed). I was walking and talking fine and felt nothing except lower back pain. I went into sheer panic when they checked and I was 8 cm! I was in a room and pushing within an hour.

Moral of the story: If you have any pain, go get checked and don't be stubborn like me.

I had the bloody show the night before, so I had a feeling it was coming. Started getting dull cramps the next morning and figured it was imminent. My water didn't break until I was about 8cm and already had an epidural.

DD1- no real indication and water broke at 39 weeks
DD2- I was 4cm the morning my water broke and was finally mentally at peace with the impending baby coming (if that makes sense)

was your labor without any warning signs or full of impending labor cues?

i think i'm starting a nasty oral yeast infection after starting some antibiotics for traces of bacteria in my urine at 36 weeks. i use flonase on occasion which probably didn't help and now i feel in a funk for the weekend so bring me stories!
