My doc, the day before, said that she would be about 6.5 lbs at birth. She was 8lbs 5oz! I thought my youngest would be in the same ballpark and he was 7 lbs. 9 oz. They had me totally freaked out since I had GD...they kept saying if I went past my due date that he would be enormous. Then when he got stuck, I thought for sure I would be having an 8-9 pound baby. After my emergency C-section, I was really surprised that he was only 6 pounds, 13 ounces! My doctor said she would be surprised if she was 7 lbs and the nurses during my C-section all guessed 6-7 lbs based on my size. She was 8 lbs 10 oz. In the last weeks of my pregnancy, I got a quick ultrasound when I asked if he was head down. During that time, she did a belly measurement and moved him a bit. She guessed that he would be between 7-8 lbs at birth. The doctor and the nurse felt my stomach and guessed around 7.5lbs. When the doctor came back after she was weighed, she was shocked that she was 8.4lbs.
