For most of my life she has always had at least one job, but she always worked it out so she could be home with me too or take me with her to work. Before I was in school she was SAHM for a while then worked at a video store that allowed her to take me to work with her. Once I started school she ran the latchkey program and I could go there with her. Then when I went to middle school she got a job working at the school as an aide so she'd only work school hours and be home after school with me. I distinctively remember feeling like she was overbearing by the time I was in third grade.</p> <p>I have a masters degree, a career, a mortgage, and a desire to maintain my brain. I was in college by the time she started working, but my brothers were still in high school. I would kind of count college as a job since she would take classes in the afternoon and dad would make dinner (: I am and plan to be a SAHM until all kids are in school, at which point I will only work if my hours fall in between 8am and 1pm, I want to be home when my kids are home; no exceptions. The experience I had with her growing up as well as how hard it was for her after the divorce is a huge reason I am a WOHM. </p>
