My periods are heavier and PMS is worse off birth control. My BC periods and natural ones are like night and day. My BC ones were lighter, but lasted a week, cramps were nasty, and my PMS turned me into an angry, paranoid lunatic. My natural ones are 2 1/2 days, ultra heavy (I go through the heaviest tampons in under 2 hours, as opposed to NEVER needing them on BC), with barely noticeable cramps, and I'm exhausted the first day. But my PMS consists of "Can I have a cup of cocoa?" (or my baseline personality on BC. It's nice being PMSy less than 2 days a month, instead of all month long.) My period is almost exactly the same now as it was before I went on BC. The only thing that has changed is that it is slightly shorter in duration (shorter by about 1-2 days). I used to have 7 day periods, and now I am more like 5-6. I would like to know if your periods were the same when you were NOT on BC, meaning before you ever started BC and then after you stopped taking BC. Does that make sense? I'd finish the monthly pack, and it would take 2-4 days for my period to show. I've had two cycles since stopping BC and they have come exactly like clockwork at 28 days. The periods themselves are similar to my previous ones, although maybe a bit heavier. But there would always be random months where I would have really bad cramps and other months with none at all. I didn't notice any major changes other than that. I have been on BC since I was 16 and it's been a dream! 2 days, very light, no side effects. However, I remember in highschool it was awful. It lasted 7 full days, heavy, cramping, the works. I'm hoping it doesn't go back to being like that!
